Randomized Controlled TrialEffect of repeated application of rigid tape on pain and mobility deficits associated with sacroiliac joint dysfunction.
Sacroiliac joint dysfunction (SIJD) accounts for up to 30% of patients with low back pain. Rigid taping techniques are often used for conservative treatment of SIJD related symptoms; however, its effectiveness has not been systematically evaluated. ⋯ Two weeks of rigid tape for anterior innominate correction successfully reduced symptoms related to SIJD.

Randomized Controlled TrialThe effect of dry needling on the active trigger point of upper trapezius muscle: Eliciting local twitch response on long-term clinical outcomes.
Pain from myofascial trigger points is often treated by dry needling (DN). Empirical evidence suggests eliciting a local twitch response (LTR) during needling is essential. Muscle damage after eliciting LTR can increase the risk of tissue fibrosis in some cases. ⋯ DN without eliciting LTR has superiority over the DN along with eliciting LTR while the treatment aimed to receive long-term effects.

Randomized Controlled TrialThe effects of neural mobilization on cervical radiculopathy patients' pain, disability, ROM, and deep flexor endurance.
Cervical radiculopathy (CR) is a disease of the cervical spine and a space-occupying lesion that occurs because of pathological problems with cervical nerve roots. Nerve root injury to produce functional disability. ⋯ These results suggest that the NMCT can pain relief, recovery from neck disability, ROM, and deep flexor endurance for patients with CR.

Prevalence of low back pain in young Brazilians and associated factors: Sex, physical activity, sedentary behavior, sleep and body mass index.
Low back pain (LBP) has become increasingly common, but the prevalence of this complaint and associated factors in young people remains controversial. ⋯ Youngsters reported a high prevalence of LBP. Girls were at greater risk of LBP than boys. It is recommended that prevention strategies focus on the practices of physical activities and scholar physical education. No association of LBP with sedentary lifestyle (TV and computer use time, sleep time), anthropometric measures and sleeping duration was observed.

Clinical TrialReliability of skin impedance in subjects with chronic neck pain.
Skin impedance is a biological signal that has been employed in the measurement of pain. However, there are few scientific data on skin impedance, with a great variety of assessment methods and controversial results. ⋯ The measurement of skin impedance of the upper and lower limbs and torso in individuals with chronic neck pain has acceptable reliability values when considered at different times and by different examiners.
