A 60-year-old man with end-stage renal disease due to nephrosclerosis had a peritoneal dialysis catheter (PD) embedded with stepwise initiation of peritoneal dialysis using Moncrief and Popovich's technique three months ago. PD was initiated three weeks after creating an exit site. ⋯ Transient bacteremia can occur after tooth extraction, leading to PD-associated peritonitis. Contemplating the oral milieu in patients undergoing PD is pertinent.

An 81-year-old man experienced acute progression of weakness in the extremities accompanied by a fever, tenderness, and swelling in distal parts of the extremities. He had flaccid tetraparesis with fasciculations and general hyporeflexia. Nerve conduction studies indicated demyelinating sensorimotor neuropathy. ⋯ Immunological treatments were effective, but his symptoms exhibited repeated relapse and remission phases. He was diagnosed with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP) with an acute onset. The highlight of this case is pain with inflammatory reaction recognized as red flags of CIDP, with the clinical course and electrophysiological findings compatible with CIDP.

A 25-year-old man presented with a fever and right upper quadrant abdominal pain. Computed tomography (CT) of the abdomen revealed diffuse perihepatic capsular enhancement, suggesting perihepatitis. Although the patient was a man, Fitz-Hugh-Curtis syndrome was suspected based on the CT findings. ⋯ He was finally diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematous (malar rash, pleuritis, positive antinuclear antibody, and positive anti-ds-DNA antibody). Perihepatitis resolved quickly with high-dose prednisolone. Perihepatitis may be the first manifestation of SLE.

Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a myeloproliferative neoplasm driven by the BCR::ABL1 tyrosine kinase. Tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) have been established as standard therapies for CML. However, some CML patients experience TKI intolerance. ⋯ We herein report a 63-year-old CML patient who underwent renal transplantation and exhibited TKI intolerance. He was switched to asciminib, which achieved a deep molecular response without exacerbation of the renal function. Our experience revealed that asciminib is effective and safe for CML patients complicated with chronic kidney disease.
