An Elderly Patient Developed Ulcerative Colitis after SARS-CoV-2 mRNA Vaccination: A Case Report and Review of the Literature.
An 86-year-old man presented to our hospital with symptoms of diarrhea and bloody stool, which had manifested two weeks after receiving his third severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 mRNA vaccination. Colonoscopy revealed diffuse, rough-surfaced mucosa extending from the ascending colon to the rectum. Despite attempting probiotic treatment, the patient's condition did not improve, leading to admission. ⋯ Based on endoscopic and histopathological findings, the patient was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. Corticosteroids and 5-aminosalicylic acid were administered, and the clinical symptoms improved. Subsequently, the disease worsened during steroid tapering, and filgotinib was added, leading to steroid-free remission.

Since it is widely accepted that there is a positive correlation between the salt intake and hypertension or cerebro-cardiovascular-renal events, salt intake restriction is currently widely recommended, especially in patients with hypertension. However, salt intake restriction does not always have beneficial effects. ⋯ We reviewed the importance of vegetable and fruit intake for health, focusing on the relationship between urinary potassium excretion, a marker of vegetable and fruit intake, and cerebro-cardiovascular-renal events or all-cause mortality. In conclusion, vegetable and fruit intake may be essential for reducing cerebro-cardiovascular-renal events and all-cause mortality.

A Pancreatic Collision Tumor Comprising Mantle Cell Lymphoma and Adenocarcinoma: A Case Report and Literature Review.
A collision tumor is a rare clinical condition where two different tumors occur synchronically within a lesion. Pancreatic collision tumors with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) are extremely rare and have only been reported in one case to date. ⋯ The patient received palliative therapy and died 23 months after the diagnosis. Further research and case studies are required to investigate whether or not MCL-derived cyclin D1 overexpression affects the occurrence/growth of adenocarcinomas.

Dural Arteriovenous Fistula Mimicking Acute Encephalitis: A Case Report.
We herein report a case of acute neurological symptoms and a fever initially suspected of being encephalitis but later revealed to be dural arteriovenous fistula (dAVF). An 84-year-old woman had a fever and cerebral edema and was initially treated for encephalitis. ⋯ The present case showed that dAVF can also present with an acute onset and a fever, mimicking acute encephalitis. Because the treatments for encephalitis and dAVF differ greatly, the possibility of dAVF should also be considered when diagnosing encephalitis.

A 56-year-old man presented with a history of hypertension; clinically, the patient had primary aldosteronism (PA) and a 4-cm left adrenal tumor. The left adrenal glands, resected by adrenalectomy, also contained ectopic thyroid tissue (ETT). ⋯ This is the first case of adrenal ETT coexisting with APA, confirmed by steroid-converting enzyme expression. Further analyses using cumulative case data are required to clarify the correlation between adrenal ETT and APA.
