Single-nucleotide polymorphism rs 175080 in the MLH3 gene and its relation to male infertility.
MLH3, a MutL homolog protein in mammals playing a role in DNA mismatch repair, is associated with spermatogenesis and male infertility. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the association of the single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP), rs 175080 in the MLH3 gene, with sperm parameters in a Greek population. ⋯ It is suggested that the studied SNP in the MLH3 gene may be linked to oligozoospermia in Caucasian men of a certain area.

Comparative Study Observational StudyHigher clinical pregnancy rates from frozen-thawed blastocyst transfers compared to fresh blastocyst transfers: a retrospective matched-cohort study.
The purpose of this matched-cohort study was to assess endometrial receptivity to blastocyst implantation in fresh embryo transfer by comparing implantation outcomes of fresh embryo transfer with frozen embryo transfer, where two blastocysts of good quality were transferred in good prognosis patients. ⋯ Blastocysts of good quality transferred in frozen embryo transfer had a significantly greater chance of implantation and clinical pregnancy compared to blastocysts of matched quality transferred in fresh embryo transfer, suggesting reduced endometrial receptivity in fresh embryo transfer.

Case ReportsOocyte cryopreservation beyond cancer: tools for ethical reflection.
This article offers physicians a tool for structured ethical reflection on challenging situations surrounding oocyte cryopreservation in young healthy women. ⋯ Oocyte cryopreservation is gaining popularity among healthy reproductive age women. However, despite promised benefits it also involves risks that are not always properly communicated in commercialized settings. ECM offers clinicians a tool for structured ethical analysis taking into consideration a wide range of implications, various ethical standpoints, and patients' perceptions and beliefs.
