The goal of the study was to describe the lag screw-rod (LSR) technique for the treatment of unstable Hangman's fracture as an attempt to pull C2 vertebral body back to posterior elements easily and immobilize C2 relative to C3 simultaneously. ⋯ The LSR technique is an effective and reliable treatment for unstable Hangman's fractures. The technique has the advantages of pulling back the C2 vertebral body back to posterior elements easily and immobilizing C2 relative to C3 simultaneously.

We aimed to investigate the clinical performance of the constructs of double-door cervical laminoplasty with suture anchors by examining bony fusion at the hinges and lamina closure. ⋯ The constructs of double-door cervical laminoplasty with suture anchors are stable with a high rate of fusion at the hinges. However, if the procedure is performed at C3, special modifications should be made to avoid lamina closure.

Biomechanical investigation. ⋯ A two-level corpectomy with cement-augmentation results in a significantly reduced ROM. In comparison with the conventional anterior screw-and-plate fixation, it represents a significantly stabilized two-level anterior construct. This might be a treatment option for patients with a two-level corpectomy associated with reduced bone mineral density, to avoid an additional dorsal instrumentation.

To set a baseline measurement of the number of hand flexion-extension cycles and analyse the degree of motion in young healthy individuals, measured by leap motion controller (LMC), besides describing gender and dominant hand differences. ⋯ Normative values of the frequency of cycles and extent of motion for young healthy individuals, aged 18-35 years, are provided. Future work is needed to establish values in a wider age range and in a clinical setting.

The aim of this study was to describe the disease-related sagittal balance changes in relation to the sacro-pelvic morphology of Parkinson's Disease patients with different duration of disease. ⋯ Female gender, high PI and high LL together with a low PL-C7 distance can be considered as protective factors for spinal imbalance and fall risk; negative factors are represented by male gender, longer disease duration, higher H&Y Class, and low PL-L3 distance. Looking at the pelvis is revealing new important insights in spinal disease management, both surgical and rehabilitative.
