To determine the relationship between the bone formation-related functions of GPR126 and the structural asymmetry of spine in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS). ⋯ Our findings indicated that GPR126-NTFs play a role in skeletal development, and the inclusion/exclusion of exon6 may regulate the bone formation-related functions of GPR126. The convex/concave asymmetric expression of GPR126-exon6in may be an important factor in abnormal bone formation of AIS. These slides can be retrieved under Electronic Supplementary Material.

As the population continues to age, the number of lumbar spine surgeries continues to increase. While there are many complications associated with lumbar surgeries, a myocardial infarction (MI) is a particularly devastating one. This complication is of considerable importance with mortality rates of postoperative MI documented between 26.5 and 70%. This study aimed to determine the relationship between lumbar surgeries, preoperative diagnoses (risk factors), and myocardial infarction. ⋯ Preoperative risk factors, patient demographics, and procedure type had a significant effect on the incidence of postoperative myocardial infarction. These slides can be retrieved under Electronic Supplementary Material.

To investigate the effectiveness of surgical reduction in high-grade spondylolisthesis in maintaining or restoring a normal pelvic balance, as related to the QoL. ⋯ Surgical reduction in high- to low-grade slip is more effective in maintaining and restoring a normal pelvic balance postoperatively. These slides can be retrieved under Electronic Supplementary Material.

This study aimed to obtain reference values of lumbar lordosis (LL) and lower LL (LLL) from normal asymptomatic groups, determine the relationship between them and pelvic incidence (PI), and establish the predictive formula for ideal LLL in the elderly Korean population. ⋯ The ideal values of PI-LL and PI-LLL were inconsistent, and they have a positive correlation with PI in asymptomatic elderly population. Our data would be helpful as a normal reference value of ideal LL and LLL according to PI. These slides can be retrieved under Electronic Supplementary Material.
