Background and objectives: The aim of the present retrospective single-center study is to evaluate the diagnostic performance of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) for assessing Bosniak III complex renal cystic lesions with histopathological validation. Materials and Methods: 49 patients with CEUS-categorized Bosniak III renal cystic lesions were included in this retrospective study. All patients underwent native B-mode, Color Doppler, contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) between 2010-2020. ⋯ Delayed wash-out could be detected in 6/29 renal lesions. In two cases of histopathologically confirmed clear-cell RCC, appropriate up-grading from Bosniak IIF to III was achieved by CEUS. Conclusions: CEUS depicts a promising imaging modality for the precise diagnostic workup and stratification of renal cystic lesions according to the Bosniak classification system, thereby helping guidance of adequate clinical management in the future.

Background and objectives: A deeper comprehension of the role that environmental risk factors play in the development of adolescent Bipolar Disorder (BD), as well as in the evolution of high-risk states for BD, may entangle further prevention and treatment advances. The present systematic review is aimed at critically summarizing evidence about the role that environmental risk factors play in the development of BD in adolescence and their interaction with BD high-risk states. Materials and Methods: MEDLINE/Pubmed, Scopus and Web of Science datasets were systematically searched until 4 September 2020. ⋯ Similar findings were detected for familial environment-related features, such as parental rejection and low perceived care, while no univocal results were found when analyzing familial functioning. Conclusions: The present systematic review confirmed the relevant role that environmental risk factors, particularly negative stressful live events and family-related features, play in the development of BD psychopathology during adolescence. Future studies are expected to clarify possible further environmental factors that may be implicated in the development of BD during youth that may serve as target of prevention and early treatment strategies.

Ayurveda is a comprehensive, natural health care system that originated in the ancient Vedic times of India. Epigenetics refers to the external modification of DNA that turns genes on and off, affecting gene expression. This occurs without changes in the basic structure of the DNA. ⋯ Thus, it is proposed that epigenetics is an important mechanism of Ayurveda. This correlation and understanding will lead to better communication and understanding with the current medical system, and lead to better integration of both sciences in the management of optimal health. In addition, research on Ayurvedic modalities affecting gene expression will further increase correlation and understanding between the current medical system and Ayurveda.

Background and objectives: ultrasound is considered to be the primary tool for preoperative assessment of ovarian masses; however, the discrimination of borderline ovarian tumours (BOTs) is challenging, and depends highly on the experience of the sonographer. The Assessment of Different NEoplasias in the adneXa (ADNEX) model is considered to be a valuable diagnostic tool for preoperative assessment of ovarian masses; however, its performance for BOTs has not been widely studied, due to the low prevalence of these tumours. The aim of this study was to evaluate the performance of ADNEX model for preoperative diagnosis of BOTs. ⋯ However, the differences were insignificant. Conclusions: The International Ovarian Tumour Analysis (IOTA) ADNEX model performs well in discriminating BOTs from other ovarian tumours irrespective of the subtype. The calculation based on RR or AR with the cut-off value of at least 10% should be used when evaluating for BOTs.
