Periarticular chondromas are common in the humerus and femur but rarely occur in the temporomandibular joint. We report a case of a chondroma in the anterior part of the ear. One year prior to his visit, a 53-year-old man became aware of swelling in the right cheek region which gradually increased in size. ⋯ Using a nerve monitoring system, the tumor was resected with normal tissue of the upper pole of the parotid gland in the same way as for a benign parotid tumor. Distinguishing between pleomorphic adenoma, including diffuse microcalcification of the parotid gland and cartilaginous tumors of the temporomandibular joint, may be sometimes difficult. In such cases, surgical resection may be a beneficial treatment option.

Background and Objectives: Children with disabilities (such as cerebral palsy, autistic spectrum disorder, and Down syndrome) are the most vulnerable and marginalized subset of the population, representing 2.7% of the total population of Saudi Arabia. The COVID-19 outbreak might have disproportionately affected children with disabilities, augmented their isolation, and induced severe disruptions to the services on which these children rely. Limited research has been conducted in Saudi Arabia to understand the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the rehabilitation services provided to children with disabilities and barriers. ⋯ This shows a significant reduction in the accessibility of the rehabilitation services provided during the pandemic. Conclusions: The findings of this study revealed a drastic decline in services provided to children with disabilities. This caused a notable deterioration in the abilities of these children.

Review Meta Analysis
Prognostic Implication of EBV Infection in Gastric Carcinomas: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Background and objectives: This study aims to elucidate the prognostic implications of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection in gastric carcinomas (GCs) through a systematic review and meta-analysis. Materials and Methods: In total, 57 eligible studies and 22,943 patients were included in this meta-analysis. We compared the prognoses of EBV-infected and non-infected GC patients. ⋯ The prognostic impact of EBV infection was found in the Asian and American subgroups but not in the European subgroup (HR 0.880, 95% CI 0.782-0.991, HR 0.840, 95% CI 0.750-0.941, and HR 0.915, 95% CI 0.814-1.028). Conclusions: EBV infection is a favorable survival factor for GCs. However, the prognostic implications of EBV infection in the new molecular classification are not clear.

Background and Objectives: Short-stem total hip arthroplasty has become increasingly popular in recent years. While many studies have shown excellent clinical and radiological results, very little is known about the learning curve for short-stem total hip arthroplasty through an anterolateral approach. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the learning curve for short-stem total hip arthroplasty among five residents in training. ⋯ Some improved their surgical skills faster than others. It could be assumed that they assimilated their surgical skills after more surgeries. A further study with more than 30 cases of the five surgeons could provide more information on that assumption.
