EVALUATION OF ULTRASONOGRAPHIC ANATOMY OF TRANSVERSUS ABDOMINIS PLANE BEFORE AND AFTER CESAREAN SECTION.
Transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block is used to provide analgesia after lower abdominal surgery operations. TAP block has been shown to reduce postoperative pain scores and side effects of opioids after cesarean section. Generally, TAP block was introduced after cesarean section. ⋯ Systematic data on ultrasonographic anatomy of the abdominal wall in pregnant women have not yet been published. The obstetric anesthesiologist should be aware of these changes when planning a TAP block in the context of cesarean section. There is a need for larger prospective studies.

LONG-TERM SURVIVAL EFFECTS OF PREOPERATIVE BREAST MRI IN PATIENTS WITH BREAST-CONSERVING SURGERY.
The benefit of breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in breast-conserving surgery (BCS) is unclear. Our study compared breast cancer patients with and without preoperative breast MRI and their long-term oncologic outcomes are reported. A total of 1378 BCS cases with early breast cancer between 1996 and 2017 were reviewed. ⋯ When analyses were repeated only for patients with hormone receptor-negative or triple-negative breast cancer, there was still no significant difference in OS, LRFS, or disease-free survival. In conclusion, MRI does not seem necessary in all patients undergoing BCS. New prospective randomized controlled trials are needed to determine appropriate use of preoperative MRI and its effects on oncologic outcomes in early breast cancer patients.

INVESTIGATION OF TIGECYCLINE SUSCEPTIBILITY OF MULTIDRUG-RESISTANT ACINETOBACTER BAUMANNII ISOLATES BY DISC DIFFUSION, AGAR GRADIENT AND BROTH MICRODILUTION TESTS.
The use of tigecycline is becoming increasingly important because of the high levels of antibiotic resistance in Acinetobacter baumannii (A. baumannii) isolates. In this prospective study, multidrug-resistant A. baumannii isolates were obtained from various tissue and fluid samples of patients admitted to or treated at various departments and tested in Laboratory of Microbiology, Duzce University Medical Faculty between January 2013 and December 2015. Tigecycline resistance in multidrug-resistant A. baumannii isolates were analyzed using the disc diffusion test (DDT), agar gradient test (AGT), and gold standard test [broth microdilution test (BMT)]. ⋯ Tigecycline resistance as assessed by BMT showed no increase between 2013 and 2015. Accordingly, isolates found to be resistant or intermediate by DDT should be confirmed by BMT. Due to the ease of application, AGT is a safe method of detecting susceptibility.

VALIDATION OF THE BRIEF INTERNATIONAL COGNITIVE ASSESSMENT FOR MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS (BICAMS) IN A LARGE COHORT OF RELAPSING-REMITTING MS PATIENTS.
Cognitive impairment is one of the most frequently reported symptoms in persons with multiple sclerosis (MS). The Brief International Cognitive Assessment for Multiple Sclerosis (BICAMS) has been recommended as a standardized international screening and monitoring tool for brief cognitive assessment. The aim of our study was to assess the reliability and validity of the Serbian version of the BICAMS. ⋯ There were statistically significant correlations between BICAMS scores and age, education, EDSS and disease duration in patient sample. Test-retest reliability was confirmed with Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.70 in all measures. This study supported the reliability and validity of the Serbian BICAMS, although the CVLT-II version tested here lacked sensitivity to detect MS compared to healthy volunteers.

Case ReportsSUCCESSFUL RESOLUTION OF NUTCRACKER SYNDROME WITH 3D PRINTED PEEK EXTRAVASCULAR STENT IN AN ADOLESCENT BOY.
Three-dimensional printed polyetheretherketone (PEEK) extravascular stent was applied to treat a 14-year-old boy with nutcracker syndrome. Digital subtraction angiography revealed a segment of the left renal vein (LRV) with reduced contrast filling immediately before its inflow into the inferior vena cava, and high-pressure gradient. The three-dimensional reconstruction model demonstrated that the LRV and the duodenum were contracted at the aortomesenteric angle, resulting in LRV compression from the abnormal high-level duodenal compartment. ⋯ According to the abdominal ultrasound and multi-slice computed tomography scan, the postoperative follow-up results were satisfactory one year after surgery. The patient felt well, the blood flow in the LRV was not obstructed, and the blood flow velocity was average. The external stent was in place.
