COMPARATIVE RADIOLOGICAL DIAGNOSTICS OF ACUTE TRIANGULAR FIBROCARTILAGE COMPLEX INJURIES.
The aim was to analyze patients with clinical diagnosis of triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) lesion using standard x-ray, ultrasound, conventional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and MR arthrography (MRA); to evaluate the accuracy of MRA compared with MRI in the diagnosis of this lesion; and to evaluate ultrasound as a method of diagnosing TFCC lesion. We analyzed 72 patients (46 female and 26 male; age range, 22-61 years; mean age 37 years; 50 right and 22 left wrists) with suspected TFCC lesion with clinical examination, standard x-rays, and ultrasound. We confirmed patients with traumatic TFCC injury on MRI and MRA. ⋯ Ultrasound is useful for visualizing intra-articular effusion, soft tissue, bone surface, and for early detection of occult fractures. MRI is a better diagnostic modality, fully able to visualize the TFCC cartilage and ligaments. MRA is consistently and accurately able to visualize structural abnormalities of TFCC.

Observational StudyCORRELATES OF IN-HOSPITAL MORTALITY IN PATIENTS WITH ACUTE CORONARY SYNDROME IN KOSOVO.
It has been demonstrated that pre-hospital emergency care reduces in-hospital mortality in patients admitted with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between pre-hospital emergency care and in-hospital mortality in ACS patients treated at the University Clinical Centre of Kosovo Emergency Department (UCCK ED). ⋯ In-hospital mortality of patients admitted with ACS remains high in Kosovo as compared with developed countries. A better strategy for pre-hospital emergency care in Kosovo is recommended to save lives in these high-risk patients.

Leptin is a polypeptide which is mostly produced in white fat tissue and is an important proinflammatory, proangiogenic, proinvasive and mitotic factor. There is ever more evidence suggesting the key role of leptin in the occurrence of breast cancer. The aim of the study was to investigate serum leptin levels in patients with benign breast tumors, as well as in various breast cancer phenotypes, taking into account leptin levels connected to menopausal status and body mass index (BMI). ⋯ According to BMI alone, obese women had a significantly higher level of leptin regardless of the type of tumor. The most significant differences in leptin levels observed through BMI were found in the Luminal B1 group. In conclusion, serum leptin level was shown to be a good diagnostic parameter suggesting a higher possibility of breast cancer development.

IMPACT OF CHEMOTHERAPY-INDUCED PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY ON THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN CANCER PATIENTS.
The aim of the study was to investigate the correlation between chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) and quality of life, as well as to establish whether there was a difference in peripheral neuropathy symptoms and their effect on the quality of life depending on the type of agents applied. The study encompassed 156 patients treated at the Department of Oncology from March to May 2017. ⋯ Oxaliplatin had a significantly greater effect on the onset of motor and sensory neuropathy than taxane and cisplatin/carboplatin. Nursing interventions based on specific characteristics of certain chemotherapeutic agents should be developed for CIPN alleviation.

Case ReportsLEFT-SIDED INFERIOR VENA CAVA ASSOCIATED WITH PROXIMAL DEEP VENOUS THROMBOSIS OF THE LEFT LOWER EXTREMITY.
Left-sided inferior vena cava (IVC) is a rare congenital venous anomaly that is most frequently detected incidentally during abdominal computer tomography scanning. However, as in the case presented, the first clinical manifestation of this anomaly may be deep venous thrombosis (DVT) of lower extremities. Therefore, left-sided IVC should be kept in mind in case of inferior DVT, especially in young patients with no predisposing thrombotic risk factors.
