ReviewMeasuring shoulder function: a systematic review of four questionnaires.
To conduct a systematic review of the quality and content of the psychometric evidence relating to 4 shoulder disability scales: the Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand (DASH) questionnaire, the Shoulder Pain and Disability Index (SPADI), the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) score, and the Simple Shoulder Test (SST). ⋯ The psychometric properties of the ASES, DASH, and SPADI have been shown to be acceptable for clinical use. Conversely, some properties of the SST still need be evaluated, particularly the absolute errors of measurement. Overall, validation studies have focused on less clinically relevant properties (construct validity or group reliability) than estimates of MDC and MCID.

ReviewAcupuncture for pain relief in patients with rheumatoid arthritis: a systematic review.
To systematically review the efficacy of acupuncture on pain relief in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). ⋯ Despite some favorable results in active-controlled trials, conflicting evidence exists in placebo-controlled trials concerning the efficacy of acupuncture for RA. Rigorous and well-controlled randomized trials are warranted.

ReviewA systematic review on the effectiveness of treatment with antidepressants in fibromyalgia syndrome.
To systematically review the efficacy of treatment of fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) with antidepressants. ⋯ Amitriptyline 25-50 mg/day reduces pain, fatigue, and depressiveness in patients with FMS and improves sleep and quality of life. Most SSRIs and the SNRIs duloxetine and milnacipran are probably also effective. Short-term treatment of patients with FMS using amitriptyline or another of the antidepressants that were effective in RCTs can be recommended. Data on long-term efficacy are lacking.

Review Meta AnalysisPatellar taping and bracing for the treatment of chronic knee pain: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
To evaluate the evidence for patellar taping and bracing in the management of chronic knee pain. ⋯ There was evidence that tape applied to exert a medially-directed force on the patella produces a clinically meaningful change in chronic knee pain. There was limited evidence to demonstrate the efficacy of patellar bracing. These outcomes were limited by the presence of high heterogeneity between study outcomes and significant publication bias.

ReviewPrognostic factors of progression of osteoarthritis of the knee: a systematic review of observational studies.
To provide an overview of prognostic factors of knee osteoarthritis (OA) progression. ⋯ Generalized OA and level of hyaluronic acid seem to be associated with the radiologic progression of knee OA. Knee pain, radiologic severity at baseline, sex, quadriceps strength, knee injury, and regular sport activities seem not to be related. For other factors, the evidence was limited or conflicting.
