In recent years, the adoption of electric scooters has been accompanied by a surge of scooter-related injuries in the US, raising concerns for their severity and associated healthcare costs. This study aimed to assess temporal trends and outcomes of scooter-related hospital admissions compared with bicycle-related hospitalizations. ⋯ The prevalence and severity of scooter-related injuries have significantly increased in the US, thereby attributing to a substantial cost burden on the healthcare system. Multidisciplinary efforts to inform safety policies and enact targeted interventions are warranted to reduce scooter-related injuries.

The internal anatomy of the liver is extremely complex. Laparoscopic anatomical segmentectomy requires reference to the position and alignment of intrahepatic vascular. However, the surface of the liver lacks anatomical landmarks and the liver segment boundaries cannot be identified with the naked eye. Augmented reality navigation (ARN) and indocyanine green fluorescence imaging (FI) are emerging navigation tools in liver resection. This study aimed to explore the efficacy and application value of laparoscopic anatomical segmentectomy guided by ARN combined with indocyanine green FI. ⋯ The ARN-FI technology provides a more standardized approach for liver parenchyma section during laparoscopic liver resection, effectively minimizing intraoperative blood loss, reducing postoperative remnant liver ischemia, and improving oncological prognosis. This method is safe and feasible and has good clinical application prospects.

Patients with ERBB2 (HER2)-positive breast cancer experience high pathologic complete response (pCR) rates after standard neoadjuvant anti-HER2 systemic therapy. We examined axillary pathologic nodal response to neoadjuvant dual HER2-targeted therapy alone, based on breast pathologic response, in a multi-institution clinical trial. ⋯ Patients with HER2-positive breast cancer treated with dual HER2-targeted therapy who experienced a breast pCR or RCB I response were frequently ypN0. These findings support future trials considering omission of axillary surgical staging for patients with HER2-positive breast cancer in neoadjuvant trials of active HER2-targeted regimens, particularly if they experience breast pCR or RCB I.
