Prevalence of Hypertension in Adult Population of A Village of Nepal.
Hypertension is a cardiovascular disorder rapidly emerging as a major health problem in developing countries. Uncontrolled or poorly managed hypertension leads to several complications such as coronary heart disease, peripheral vascular disease and kidney disease. These complications account for approx 9.4 million deaths worldwide every year. Consequently, it is an urgent need for authorities to act upon this issue. This study was done to determine the prevalence of Hypertension in Deurali village of Nuwakot. ⋯ The prevalence of hypertension was found to be lower than the previous study done in similar settings.

Case ReportsAnaphylactic Bronchospasm during Induction of General Anaesthesia: A Case Report.
Bronchospasm represents the clinical manifestation of bronchial muscles contraction resulting in reduced alveolar air flow. Non-allergic mechanisms or anaphylaxis underlie the genesis of perioperative bronchospasm, a potential anaesthetic disaster. Early recognition and treatment are crucial. ⋯ Vecuronium was the most probable culprit but confirmation was not possible as the patient was lost to follow up. Rarely, perioperative anaphylaxis presents only with bronchospasm that requires prompt attention to avoid adverse outcome. Keywords: allergy; anaphylaxis; bronchial spasm; general anesthesia.

Prevalence of Maternal Anemia in A Tertiary Care Hospital in Western Nepal.
Maternal anemia is a common problem in developing countries like Nepal accounting for around 30-50% of women becoming anemic during pregnancy. The present study aims to find out the prevalence of maternal anemia in a tertiary care hospital in Western Nepal. ⋯ The prevalence of maternal anemia in this study is found to be higher than the national data which implies that maternal anemia is still a public health issue which needs to be addressed in spite of safe motherhood program launched by the government of Nepal.

Facial index is useful for anatomists, forensic scientists and plastic surgeons during treatment of congenital and traumatic deformities, identification of individuals in medico-legal cases and identifying craniofacial deformities and they help us in distinguishing one person from another. Very few researchers from Nepal have worked on these facial features with respect to population and environment. The study aims to find the prevalence of leptoprosopic type of face among dental students of Kantipur Dental College, Kathmandu, Nepal. ⋯ This study concludes that the leptoprosopic face was most common followed by hyperleptoprosopic, mesoprosopic, europrosopic and hypereuroprosopic type of face.

Psychosocial and Functional Distress of Cancer Patients in A Tertiary Care Hospital: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Global burden of cancer is witnessing an exponential increase. Nepal is no exception. In the recent years, cancer care has seen a focus shift towards holistic healing. This includes screening and assessing for psychosocial distress, allowing health care providers to deliver timely psychological interventions. The goal of this study was to find the prevalence of psychosocial and functional impact of cancer diagnoses in Nepal. ⋯ Cancer patients in Nepal have clinically significant psychosocial issues that directly impact on their distress.
