Thyroid Dysfunction in Patients with Abnormal Uterine Bleeding in a Tertiary Care Hospital: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Abnormal uterine bleeding is a common gynecological presentation, accounting for at least 20% of all new outpatient visits. It has been recognized that thyroid dysfunction may have profound effects on the female reproductive system. Both hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism are associated with a variety of changes, including delayed onset of puberty, anovulatory cycles, and abnormally high fetal wastage. Hence, this study was conducted to know the thyroid status of the patient with abnormal uterine bleeding. ⋯ Most females with abnormal uterine bleeding were euthyroid. Menorrhagia was the most common pattern of abnormal uterine bleeding.

Case ReportsIntradural Disc Herniation in the Lumbar Spine: A Case Report.
Intradural disc herniation is a rare presentation of a common pathology, comprising around 0.28-0.3% of all disc herniations. It occurs when disc material related to an intervertebral disc penetrates the spinal dura and lies in an intradural extramedullary location. A 60 years old male patient presented with complaints of low back pain and right lower limb radiculopathy of 2 weeks duration. ⋯ Intradural nerve root showed significant displacement with severe central canal and right lateral recess stenosis. Discectomy was performed along with the removal of the intradural extension. The postoperative course was uneventful.

Psychiatric Morbidities of Elderly Out-patients Attending Various Outreach Clinics in Gandaki Province of Nepal: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Dramatic growth of the aging population resulted in an increased number of mental disorders and such data are limited in Nepal. The objective is to find out the psychiatric morbidities of elderly out-patients attending Baglung, Kusma, Walling, and Dumre out-reach clinics in Gandaki Province of Nepal. ⋯ Neurotic, stress-related, and somatoform disorders were the most common diagnosis. The risk of development of certain disorders based on gender and age group of the patients would be helpful for case identification.

Patient Satisfaction in Out-patient Services at a Tertiary Care Center: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Patient satisfaction is an important and commonly used valid indicator for the measurement of service quality. Patient responses to healthcare services are one of the best ways to obtain information about patient views regarding the quality of healthcare. The main aim of the study was to find out the patient's satisfaction level in the tertiary care center. ⋯ The mean score and percentage of patient satisfaction were high in the hospital. However, the accessibility and availability of medical personnel were only a matter of concern.

Prevalence of Intestinal Parasitic Infestation among Public School Children of a Community.
Intestinal parasitic infestation is one of the major health problems in developing countries like Nepal. This study was done to determine the prevalence rate of intestinal parasitic infestation among school children in Duwakot VDC, Bhaktapur, Nepal. ⋯ The prevalence rate of intestinal parasite infestation in Nepal shows considerable decline in recent years. However, more effort is required by public health resources to minimize the problem further.
