GeneXpert Based Confirmed Cases among Suspected Cases of Tuberculosis in a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis mostly affecting the lungs. Due to the low sensitivity of conventional microscopy and time-consuming culture method, Nucleic acid Amplification Assay Technique is preferred because of its rapidity and sensitivity. This test also helps in finding drug resistance to Rifampicin and also curtails the transmission of disease. The study is aimed to find the prevalence of GeneXpert confirmed cases among suspected cases of tuberculosis in a tertiary care centre. ⋯ multidrug-resistant; nucleic acid amplification test; pulmonary tuberculosis.

Sputum Eosinophil Level among Healthy Individuals Visiting Medicine Outpatient Department of a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Sputum differential is the most comprehensive, and non-invasive investigation for evaluating airway inflammation because of its reliability, reproducibility and responsiveness. The interpretation of the results of induced sputum examination depends on knowledge of normal values from a healthy population. So far, the reference values of sputum differential cells in Nepalese population are not reported. Neutrophil and eosinophil are used to assess the inflammatory response of the airway. The aim of our study was to detect the eosinophil level in the sputum of healthy individuals with normal pulmonary function. ⋯ eosinophils; healthy volunteers; leukocyte count; reference values; sputum.

Case ReportsSpontaneous Common Femoral Artery Pseudoaneurysm: A Case Report.
Spontaneous femoral artery pseudoaneurysm in a young person with no comorbidity is a rare occurrence. A 30 years old gentleman presented to our hospital with complaints of painful swelling of spontaneous onset in the right inguinal region for 15 days. He had undergone incision and drainage of the contents of the swelling five days back but he suffered from a recurrence of the painful right inguinal swelling and persistent bleeding from the incision site for four days. ⋯ It was treated surgically by emergency exploration, hematoma evacuation, removal of pseudoaneurysm, and repair of the defect in the right common femoral artery. In this case, we were fortunate that inadvertent incision of the pseudoaneurysm didn't result in a massive haemorrhage. This serves as a reminder that the possibility of a femoral artery pseudoaneurysm should be considered when evaluating a swelling of the inguinal region.
