Helicobacter pylori Infection among Patients Undergoing Upper Gastrointestinal Endoscopy in a Tertiary Care Center.
Helicobacter pylori is a gram-negative gut bacterium associated with dyspepsia, peptic ulcer disease, and gastric cancer, whose prevalence is still common in developing countries. Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy is the gold standard, first-line investigation for evaluating gastrointestinal disorders. The aim of the study was to find out the prevalence of Helicobacter pylori infection among patients undergoing upper gastrointestinal endoscopy in a tertiary care centre. ⋯ endoscopy; Helicobacter pylori; upper gastrointestinal tract.

Over-the-counter Medication Use among Patients Presenting with Fever in the Emergency Department in a Tertiary Care Hospital.
Over-the-counter medication use is commonly practised all over the world. However, in a developing country like Nepal, antibiotics form an essential component of OTC drugs. Fever is one of the most common clinical complaints which makes a patient go to the local pharmacy for over-the-counter medication. This study aimed to find out the prevalence of over-the-counter medication use among patients presenting with fever in the Emergency Department in a tertiary care hospital. ⋯ emergency departments; fever; prevalence.

Cutaneous Reactions Following Anticancer Drug Therapy in a Tertiary Care Centre.
Cutaneous reactions are dermatological abnormalities that can occur after anticancer drug therapy in cancer patients. Cutaneous reactions can range from mild dermatological disorders to life-threatening medical conditions and may worsen a patient's quality of life. Acute Kidney Injury among Neonates with Perinatal Asphyxia in a Tertiary Care Centre.
Perinatal asphyxia is a very common cause of morbidity and mortality in both term and preterm neonates and ranks the second most important cause of neonatal death. The incidence and importance of acute kidney injury in the neonatal period are becoming increasingly apparent. Early diagnosis and timely management of acute kidney injury is very important in these newborns to avoid other long-term adverse events. This study aimed to find out the prevalence of acute kidney injury among neonates with perinatal asphyxia in a tertiary care centre. ⋯ acute kidney injury; neonates; prevalence.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea Hypopnea Syndrome among Obese Patients Visiting the Outpatient Department of a Tertiary Care Centre.
Obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome is a major health public problem, with a possible contribution to cardiovascular disease and obesity. There is evidence of a bidirectional relationship between obesity and obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome. There is little to no reporting of obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome in rural subjects. The study aimed to find out the prevalence of obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome among obese patients visiting the outpatient Department of a tertiary care centre. ⋯ obesity; obstructive sleep apnea syndrome; polysomnography; waist circumference.
