Multicenter Study Observational Study
Effectiveness and pharmacoeconomic analysis of the treatment of severe asthma with omalizumab in clinical practice.
To assess socio-sanitary expenditure after the addition of omalizumab to standard treatment in the control of severe asthma and to analyse its effectiveness under standard clinical practice. ⋯ The addition of omalizumab to the treatment regime of patients with severe asthma is effective under standard clinical practice, decreases direct and indirect costs, and provides significant improvements in the health status of patients.

Fixed-dose combinations of antiretroviral drugs have meant an important step forward in simplifying treatment and improving compliance and has led to an increased effectiveness of therapy, a viral load decrease and improving the quality of life of patients. The single-table formulation of dolutegravir with abacavir and lamivudine (DTG/ABC/3TC) is a highly efficacious and well-tolerated once-daily regimen for HIV-infected patients. The objective of the study was to assess the incremental cost-utility ratio of the fixed-dose combination of (DTG/ABC/3TC) versus the combinations emtricitabine/tenofovir/efavirenz (FTC/TDF/EFV), and darunavir/r (DRV/r) or raltegravir (RAL) with emtricitabine/tenofovir (FTC/TDF) or abacavir/lamivudine (ABC/3TC) as initial antiretroviral therapy in patients infected with HIV-1 from the perspective of the Spanish National Health System. ⋯ With the premises considered, treatment initiation with DTG/ABC/3TC STR appears to be the most cost-effective option in ARTnaïve HIV infected patients from the Spanish Health System perspective.

[Self-reported experience in patients treated with Hepatitis C direct acting antivirals].
To learn about and analyze the self-reported treatment experience of HCV patients who started treatment with direct acting antivirals agents (DAA), at a real-time, proactive and integrated into the pharmaceutical care healthcare process, using a prospective questionnaire completed by patients as clinical tool. ⋯ Self-reported experience acquired through direct and constant contact with patients provides information on important aspects of treatment. We believe that these tools should be incorporated into pharmaceutical care procedures as a way to maintain continuity in patients direct contact. They also induce patients to a self-assessment of various aspects of their own treatment, which can help achieve greater involvement in it and can contribute to achieve the maximum health outcome in pharmacotherapy.
