To investigate how epithelial mechanotransduction pathways impact wound repair. ⋯ Keratinocyte FAK is highly responsive to mechanical cues and may play a critical role in matrix remodeling via regulation of p38 and MMP9. These findings suggest that aberrant epithelial mechanosensory pathways may contribute to pathologic dermal proteolysis and wound chronicity.

Review Meta Analysis
Contralateral prophylactic mastectomy after unilateral breast cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
To examine whether contralateral prophylactic mastectomy (CPM) is associated with improved survival, incidence of contralateral breast cancer (CBC), and recurrence in patients with unilateral breast cancer (UBC). ⋯ CPM is associated with decreased MCBC incidence but not improved survival among patients with elevated FGR. The superior outcomes observed when comparing CPM recipients with nonrecipients in the general population are likely not attributable to a CPM-derived decrease in MCBC incidence. UBC patients without known FGR should not be advised to undergo CPM.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
The effect of the endoscopic duodenal-jejunal bypass liner on obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus, a multicenter randomized controlled trial.
Investigate the safety and efficacy of 6 months' duodenal-jejunal bypass liner (DJBL) treatment in comparison with dietary intervention for obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). ⋯ The DJBL is a safe and effective alternative to invasive bariatric procedures. Six months of DJBL treatment combined with diet leads to superior weight loss and improvement of T2DM when compared with diet alone.
