Practice Guideline
REDISCOVER International Guidelines on the Perioperative Care of Surgical Patients With Borderline-resectable and Locally Advanced Pancreatic Cancer.
The REDISCOVER consensus conference aimed at developing and validating guidelines on the perioperative care of patients with borderline-resectable (BR-) and locally advanced (LA) pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). ⋯ The REDISCOVER guidelines provide clinical recommendations pertaining to pancreatectomy with vascular resection for patients with BR-PDAC and LA-PDAC, and serve as the basis of a new international registry for this patient population.

We evaluated the association between Medicaid expansion and time to surgery among patients with early-stage breast cancer (BC). ⋯ As continued efforts are being made to increase access to health care, our study demonstrates a positive association between Medicaid expansion and a reduction in the delivery of upfront surgical care, reducing racial disparities among patients with early-stage BC.

Comparative Study
Feasibility, Safety, and Efficacy of Aggressive Multimodal Management of Elderly Patients with Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma.
To evaluate the safety and efficacy of neoadjuvant therapy (NAT), followed by surgical resection in patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) aged ≥75 years. ⋯ This comprehensive three-part study showed that administration of NAT, followed by surgical resection, seems to be safe and effective among patients ≥75 years of age. An aggressive approach should be offered to older adults undergoing multimodal treatment of PDAC.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the association between sex and outcomes following thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) for intact isolated descending thoracic aortic aneurysms (iiDTAA). ⋯ Our findings suggest that females who undergo TEVAR for iiDTAA have similar 5-year and perioperative outcomes as compared with males.

Develop a pioneer surgical anonymization algorithm for reliable and accurate real-time removal of out-of-body images validated across various robotic platforms. ⋯ Our deep learning model, Robotic Anonymization Network, offers reliable, accurate, and safe real-time anonymization during complex and lengthy surgical procedures regardless of the robotic platform. The model can be used in real time for surgical live streaming and is openly available.
