This study aimed to understand the effectiveness of regular care in reducing the incidence of severe peristomal skin disorders, as well as to identify their risk factors. ⋯ Regular peristomal skin disease follow-up and scoring, as well as appropriate stoma care at the stoma outpatient visit did not change the frequency of peristomal skin disease, but severe peristomal skin disorders were prevented. Additionally, risk factors for peristomal skin disorders were found to be height <10 mm and loop stoma.

To compare robotic-assisted proctectomy with ileal pouch-anal anastomosis (R-IPAA) outcomes and laparoscopic proctectomy with ileal pouch-anal anastomosis (L-IPAA) within a specialized robotic surgery center, using matching techniques to minimize potential confounding factors. ⋯ In a high-volume robotic surgery center, R-IPAA reduced the risk of conversion to open surgery while reducing intraoperative blood loss and providing shorter length of stay with equivalent perioperative outcomes. Promising trends to reduce 30-day reoperations and surgical complications following DLI closure were observed after a matching analysis.

To compare the outcomes of robotic minor liver resections (RMLR) versus laparoscopic (L) MLR of the anterolateral segments. ⋯ RMLR demonstrated statistically significant advantages over LMLR even for resections in the AL segments although most of the observed clinical differences were minimal.

We integrate a new approach to chemosensitivity data for clinically-relevant regimen matching, and demonstrate the relationship with clinical outcomes in a large PDO biobank. ⋯ In vitro PDO pharmacotyping can inform PDAC therapy selection. We demonstrate improved outcomes including survival for patients treated with regimens well-matched to their PDO chemosensitivities. A subsequent prospective study using PDO pharmacotype matching could improve oncologic outcomes and improve quality of life by avoiding therapies not expected to be effective.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) increases morbidity and mortality in most vascular procedures. However, a binary classification of estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) <60 mL/min/1.73 m2, which is often used in both modeling and clinical trials, may not be optimal for predicting clinical outcomes. ⋯ Rather than a binary eGFR cutoff of ≥60 and <60 to stratify patient risk, better risk stratification may be achieved by using five groups of ≥60, 45-59, 30-44, <30, and preoperative dialysis.
