To assess rates of surgical complications and postoperative readmission in diabetic patients with and without active perioperative prescriptions for GLP-1 RA medications. ⋯ An active perioperative GLP-1 RA prescription in patients with diabetes was associated with significant reductions in risk-adjusted readmission, wound dehiscence, and hematoma, and no difference in infection and bleeding rates. Further study is warranted to elucidate any causal association.

To validate the ISGPS complexity grading system for minimally invasive pancreaticoduodenectomy (MIPD). ⋯ The ISGPS complexity grading system effectively predicted MIPD outcomes, supporting better patient selection and alignment of complexity with surgical expertise.

To examine the relationship between moral injury and surgical practice, further explore the concept of protective equity, and understand its role in mitigating the impact of morally injurious events throughout a surgical career. ⋯ Early career surgeons face a precarious imbalance of low protective equity and high vulnerability, especially immediately post-training. Strategies to address this dynamic include providing: specific education when onboarding faculty, and longitudinal peer support by senior, trained surgeons.

We aimed to study the impact of anorectal malformation (ARM) type and sacral ratio on continence outcomes in children. We secondarily aimed to compare continence outcomes by age group and determine quality of life (QoL) with different bowel regimens. ⋯ In patients on laxatives the type of malformation, but not sacral ratio, is associated with continence in patients with ARM. Continence improves with age; those on enemas with soiling have a worse QoL.

This clinical trial investigated the safety and efficacy of single-cycle pembrolizumab in patients with localized deficient mismatch repair (dMMR) colon cancer. ⋯ In conclusion, neoadjuvant single-cycle pembrolizumab was well tolerated and effective in patients with localized dMMR colon cancer. Thus, the inclusion of patients was continued until 85 patients.
