Case ReportsPost-traumatic Renal Arteriovenous Malformation Discovered after 2 Years of Blunt Trauma: Diagnosis and Management.
Blunt trauma to the kidney is usually minor and self-limiting. In some cases, the patient may present with intractable hematuria or persistent flank pain and discomfort, which necessitates aggressive management. It is very rare and unusual to find a renal arterio-venous malformation following blunt trauma. ⋯ After extensive work up, a diagnosis of renal arterio-venous malformation was made. His case was managed promptly with renal angio-embolization. Key Words: Blunt trauma, Arterio-venous malformation (AVM), Angio-embolisation, kidney.

Case ReportsA Rare Presentation of Extramedullary Hematopoiesis: Perirenal Masses.
Extramedullary hematopoiesis (EMH) is a physiological compensatory mechanism that develops in response to ineffective or insufficient hematopoiesis. Although the liver and spleen are the most common sites, EMH may occur anywhere in the body. Peri-renal involvement in EMH is quite rare and mimics tumoral lesions. ⋯ For the definitive diagnosis, an ultrasound-guided core needle biopsy was performed. The histopathological examination was consistent with EMH. This case aims to highlight the peri-renal involvement of EMH, which mimics renal and peri-renal malignancies.

Case ReportsSevere Asymptomatic Hyponatremia in an Elderly Man.
Hyponatremia is regarded as the most common electrolyte imbalance among hospitalised patients. Most hyponatremic conditions present with various degrees of symptoms depending on the level of sodium. Herein, we present a case of hyponatremia in a 65-year male, which was being managed as a case of diabetic nephropathy. ⋯ The simultaneous level of potassium was 2.6 mmol/L and 2.7 mmol/L, respectively. From this case, it is important to note that the level of hyponatremia does not necessarily have a direct relationship with the severity of symptoms of hyponatremia. Key Words: Hyponatremia, Electrolytes, Diabetic nephropathy.
