Rebound pain occurs after the resolution of peripheral nerve block and hampers patient recovery in the postoperative period. We sought to synthesise available data from randomised controlled trials (RCTs) evaluating the efficacy of prophylactic dexamethasone for rebound pain in adult patients undergoing surgery with a peripheral nerve block. ⋯ PROSPERO CRD42023424031.

Review Meta Analysis
Dose-response relationships of intravenous and perineural dexamethasone as adjuvants to peripheral nerve blocks: a systematic review and model-based network meta-analysis.
Superiority of perineural over intravenous dexamethasone at extending nerve block analgesia has been suggested but without considering the dose-response relationships for each route of administration. ⋯ PROSPERO CRD42020141689.

Review Meta Analysis
Effect of skin tone on the accuracy of the estimation of arterial oxygen saturation by pulse oximetry: a systematic review.
Pulse oximetry-derived oxygen saturation (SpO2) is an estimate of true arterial oxygen saturation (SaO2). The aim of this review was to evaluate available evidence determining the effect of skin tone on the ability of pulse oximeters to accurately estimate SaO2. ⋯ International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (PROSPERO): CRD42023390723.
