Fabry disease (FD) is the second most common lysosomal storage disorder, carrying a large morbidity and mortality. It has been recently reported that lysosomal storage disorders could cause inflammation and, subsequently, AA amyloidosis (AAA). Our aim was to describe AAA cases occurring in the course of FD. ⋯ Fabry disease can be associated with AAA, suggesting that an inflammatory component could exist in this genetic disease.

Extranodal site of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and the risk of R-CHOP chemotherapy resistance and early relapse.
About 20%-30% of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) patients experience early disease progression despite R-CHOP chemotherapy treatment. Revised international prognostic index (R-IPI) score could risk stratify DLBCL patients but does not identify exactly which patient will be resistant to R-CHOP therapy or experience early relapse. ⋯ DLBCL patients with more than one extranodal site are 5.268 times more likely to be R-CHOP therapy resistance or experience early disease relapse after R-CHOP therapy. Therefore, correlative studies are warranted in DLBCL patients with more than one extranodal site of disease to explore possible underlying mechanisms of chemoresistance.

Chronic alteration of circadian rhythm is related to impaired lung function and immune response.
Alterations of the circadian rhythm negatively impact several aspects of the health, including the lung function. Chronic shiftwork scale classically induces alterations in the circadian rhythm. However, its effects on pulmonary immune response are unknown. ⋯ Chronic alteration of circadian rhythm in shiftwork scale policemen results in impaired lung function, beyond to impair pulmonary and systemic immune function.

Prognostic Factors for Surgical Margin Status and Recurrence in Partial Nephrectomy.
To evaluate the prognostic factors affecting the surgical margin and recurrence in patients who underwent partial nephrectomy (PN) for renal masses. ⋯ Surgical margin positivity after PN is not significantly associated with tumour characteristics and anatomical scoring systems. Surgical indication for PN has a direct influence on PSM rates. Tumour size and stage after PN are valuable parameters in evaluating the recurrence risk.

A systematic review of the studies that evaluate the performance of the DAPT score.
The Dual Antiplatelet Therapy (DAPT) score was derived to determine which patients may benefit from prolonged DAPT therapy after 12 months based on the balance between ischaemic and bleeding events. Several studies have attempted to validate the score with inconsistent findings. ⋯ While not designed for this purpose many studies have shown that the DAPT score has modest predictive value for ischaemic and bleeding outcomes. A prospective randomised controlled trial is needed to evaluate the clinical benefits of utilising the DAPT score in guiding continued DAPT therapy beyond 1 year.
