Clinical significance of large unstained cell count in estimating the current activity of ANCA-associated vasculitis.
We investigated whether large unstained cell (LUC) count could estimate the current high activity according to Birmingham vasculitis activity score (BVAS) in patients with antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA) positive ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV). ⋯ LUC count was significantly correlated with the current BVAS and LUC count ≥ 15 mm3 could estimate the current high BVAS in patients with ANCA positive AAV.

The mediatory role of inflammatory markers on the relationship between dietary energy density and body composition among obese and overweight adult women: A cross-sectional study.
Energy density (ED) is known to influence body composition (BC). Indeed, consumption of high ED foods can increase body fat mass (BFM) and inflammatory markers. We sought to assess the mediatory role of high-sensitive-C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), transforming growth factor-β (TGF-beta), and plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) on the relationship between ED and BC in women with overweight/obesity. ⋯ Most BC subcategories were positively associated with higher ED intake, mediated by increasing serum levels of PAI-1 and TGF-beta. Moreover, higher serum hs-CRP levels may be related to body fat and water alteration concomitant to a higher ED intake.

Double and triple burden of non-communicable diseases and its determinants among adults in Bangladesh: Evidence from a recent demographic and health survey.
Globally, non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are a significant public health problem. NCDs are the leading cause of death in Bangladesh. This study aimed to estimate the prevalence of double burden of NCDs (DBNCDs) and triple burden of NCDs (TBNCDs) such as hypertension, diabetes and overweight or obesity and to explore the risk factors of DBNCDs and TBNCDs in Bangladesh. ⋯ Overall, there is a low prevalence of TBNCDs compared with DBNCDs in Bangladesh. Age, gender, marital status, wealth index, education level and division are significantly associated with DBNCDs and TBNCDs. The government and non-government health organisations should pay proper attention to handle the burden of NCDs in Bangladesh.

The purpose of this study is to assess the parameters of heart rate variability, which is an indicator of the change in autonomic nervous system (ANS) activity, in individuals with premature ejaculation (PE). ⋯ Different HRV parameters were exhibited in the comparison of patients with PE and normal controls. It suggests that the change in HRV parameters will be an indicator of imbalance in ANS and this imbalance may cause PE. Therefore, HRV analysis can be a diagnostic tool to assess altered ANS activity in patients with PE and may be considered as a rapid screening tool.

The interaction of aging with serum 25(OH)D and 1,25(OH)2 D status on muscle strength.
To investigate the combination relationship of age with serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH) D) and 1,25-(OH)2D3 levels on muscle strength. ⋯ Serum 25(OH)D and 1,25(OH)2 D were not related to muscle strength. However, age, and combination of age with both 25(OH)D and 1,25(OH)2 D, significantly resulted in improving in muscle strength up to middle age.
