Clinical characteristics and sick leave associated with infectious mononucleosis in a real-world setting in Germany.
Infectious mononucleosis (IM), mainly caused by the Epstein-Barr virus, can result in prolonged symptoms. The objective of this study was to look at the length of sick leave, diagnosis of IM, treatment and comorbidities in a real-world setting in Germany. ⋯ A small percentage of patients remained on continuous sick leave after 6 months, suggesting that the long-term effect of IM on the ability to work was minor in our cohort. However, patients could still be experiencing symptoms that influence their quality of life.

Medication Reconciliation at hospital admission and discharge: evaluation of fidelity and process outcomes in a real-world setting.
The study aimed to assess the fidelity of Medication Reconciliation (MR) delivered by the pharmacist at hospital admission and discharge, and the process outcomes. ⋯ This study found a high number of UD, suggesting flaws in the implementation of MR and highlight the importance of quality measurement.

Increased Short-term and Long-term Mortality in Community- and Hospital-acquired Hypernatremia and in Patients with Delayed Serum Sodium Correction.
This study examined the short-term and long-term mortality of community- and hospital-acquired hypernatraemia in a large cohort of general hospitalised patients, and the impact of delayed serum sodium correction in hypernatraemic patients. ⋯ Hypernatraemia, regardless of acquisition origin, is associated with elevated short-term and long-term mortality. Hospital-acquired hypernatraemia was more common and had a higher short-term mortality than community-acquired hypernatraemia. Failure to correct hypernatraemia by hospital day 3 is associated with increased mortality.

Observational StudyAssociation between the dietary inflammatory index and obesity in otherwise healthy adults; role of age and sex.
The dietary inflammatory index (DII® ) can estimate the overall inflammatory potential of diet. This study aimed to assess the association between DII score and other diet quality parameters with weight status among normal weight, overweight and obese otherwise healthy adults. ⋯ This study showed that having a normal body weight is not necessarily indicative of less inflammatory potential of diet and better diet quality. Male sex and increasing age were important determinants of diet quality across BMI subgroups.

Comparison of Rapid Antibody Test and Thorax Computed Tomography Results in Patients who Underwent RT-PCR with the Pre-Diagnosis of COVID-19.
In this study, it is planned to compare the real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test, which is the gold standard in the diagnosis of COVID-19, with thorax computed tomography (CT) and rapid antibody test results. ⋯ Rapid antibody test and thorax CT examinations were found to have low diagnostic value in patients who admitted to the emergency department of our hospital and whose first RT-PCR SARS-CoV-2 test was positive. Studies involving larger patient groups are needed for their use alone in diagnosis and screening.
