Antibiotic Sensitivity /Resistance Pattern of Hospital Acquired Blood Stream Infection in Children Cancer Patients: A Retrospective Study.
The literature shows a growing emphasis on understanding the local patterns of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). We aimed to evaluate the spectrum of local microorganisms that cause bloodstream infections (BSI) and their AMR patterns in an Egyptian institution treating children with cancer. ⋯ Resistance proportions (pattern) were similar to those reported in other countries with a higher distribution of E coli and a growing resistance to levofloxacin. Further investigation of the predisposing factors and the development of more effective strategies for the prevention of BSI should be a significant public health priority.

A proactive remote pharmaceutical care for rural elderly population: The Houston-Apollo polypharmacy project.
To evaluate polypharmacy-related problems in the elderly people who live in rural through a proactive pharmaceutical care project under a novel remote medical service infrastructure (the Houston-Apollo polypharmacy project). ⋯ Polypharmacy was significantly associated with negative impact of medication safety among the elderly people in rural area. A persistent remote pharmaceutical care intervention was crucial for improving this problem.

Sphenoid Sinus Mucosal Thickening in Patients with Non-functioning Pituitary Adenoma.
The aim of this study was to evaluate magnetic resonance imaging findings of sphenoid sinus (SS), pituitary gland and related structures in patients with non-functioning pituitary adenoma (NFPA) and compare to a control group. ⋯ The present study showed an association between NFPA and both SS mucosal thickening and increased distance between optic nerves. Also, our study demonstrated that there was a strong positive correlation between adenoma volume and distance between the two optic nerves.

In-hospital Outcomes of Transcatheter Versus Surgical Mitral Valve Repair in Patients with Chronic Liver Disease.
Mitral valve transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) using MitraClip is a treatment option for patients with moderate to severe mitral regurgitation who are not surgical candidate. Liver cirrhosis is associated with higher operative morbidity and mortality; however, it is not part of preoperative risk assessments calculators. We sought to evaluate the in-hospital outcomes in TEER and surgical mitral valve repair (SMVR) in liver cirrhosis. ⋯ TEER was associated with lower rate of in-hospital mortality, LOS, blood transfusion and prolonged mechanical ventilation in cirrhosis patients. TEER can be considered as a viable option for cirrhosis patient with severe mitral regurgitation.

Investıgatıon of clınıcal and pathologıcal fındıngs due to anatomıcal localızatıon ın patıents wıth colorectal cancer.
We classified anatomical localisation tumours of patients diagnosed with colorectal cancer and undergoing surgery as right and left colon and we aimed to determine how this funding affects the prognosis of the disease and survival times. ⋯ We are thinking that in colorectal cancer, the anatomical localisation of the tumour can hold an important place to determine the clinical differences such as, the disease symptoms, course, treatment options and survival status.
