Propofol Regulates ER Stress to Inhibit Tumour Growth and Sensitize Osteosarcoma to Doxorubicin.
Osteosarcoma is the most common malignant bone tumour affecting children and young adults. The antitumour role of propofol, a widely used intravenous sedative-hypnotic agent, has been recently reported in different cancer types. In this study, we aimed to assess the role of propofol on osteosarcoma and explore the possible mechanisms. ⋯ Upregulation of CHOP, p-eIF2α, and XBP1s was detected in MG63 and 143B secondary to propofol treatment. In conclusion, we found that propofol treatment suppressed osteosarcoma proliferation and invasion and had a synergic role with doxorubicin by inducing ER stress. Our findings provided a novel option in osteosarcoma therapy.

Retinal Microvascular Density and Perfusion during an Insulin-Induced Hypoglycemia Episode: A Warning Call.
To evaluate retinal vascular perfusion and density by optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) before, during, and after hypoglycemia in individuals with diabetes mellitus with or without diabetic retinopathy (DR). ⋯ Acute hypoglycemia significantly alters the retinal vascularity in DM patients with and without DR, suggesting that repeated episodes of acute hypoglycemia could exacerbate retinopathy in the long term.

Real-World Evidence for Risk Factors of Bruises and Fractures from Falls in Patients with Overactive Bladder: A Medical Record Analysis.
To identify the risk factors for bruises and fractures from falls in patients with overactive bladder (OAB). ⋯ In the real-world clinical setting, increasing nocturnal urination frequency is a common risk factor for bruises and fractures. Also, female sex and urge incontinence were the risk factors for bruises and fractures, respectively. OAB patients with urge incontinence would especially require aggressive intervention to prevent fractures during night-time voiding.

Connecting Pharmacists and Other Health Care Providers (HCPs) towards Drug Therapy Optimization: A Pharmaceutical Care Approach.
Pharmaceutical care services offered by pharmacists rationalize drug therapy, improve patient quality of life, and save patients' lives. This study was designed to optimize patient drug therapy through pharmaceutical care services offered by a pharmacist in consultation with other health care providers (HCPs) at a tertiary care hospital. ⋯ Pharmaceutical care services offered by pharmacists helped in optimizing drug therapy and patient care.

Identification of Crotonylation Metabolism Signature Predicting Overall Survival for Clear Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma.
Immunotherapy shows promise in treating cancer by leveraging the immune system to combat cancer cells. However, the influence of crotonylation metabolism on the prognosis and tumor environment in ccRCC patients is not fully understood. ⋯ Our study highlights the critical role of crotonylation metabolism in cancer development and progression, particularly its link to poor prognosis. CRS proves to be an accurate predictor of patient outcomes and immune features in ccRCC. KAT2A shows strong associations with clinical factors and the immunosuppressive environment, suggesting potential for innovative immunotherapies in ccRCC treatment.
