The Effect of Diabetes Management Shared Care Clinic on Glycated Hemoglobin A1c Compliance and Self-Management Abilities in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
We aim to evaluate the impact of diabetes management shared care clinic (DMSCC) on glycated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) compliance and self-management abilities in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). ⋯ DMSCC can help patients with T2DM reduce HbA1c, increase HbA1c compliance, improve diabetes self-management behaviors, empowerment, and diabetes-related emotional distress and serve as an effective exploration and practice of diabetes self-management education and support.

Associated Risk Factors and Diagnostic Value of Fiberoptic Bronchoscopy for Protracted Bacterial Bronchitis in Children.
Untreated protracted bacterial bronchitis (PBB), a chronic wet cough prevalent in children, may lead to chronic suppurative lung disease. However, clinical diagnostic criteria are currently nonspecific; thus, PBB may be misdiagnosed. Thus, we assessed the diagnostic value of fiberoptic bronchoscopy (FOB) and the risk factors associated with PBB. ⋯ Dermatophagoides, milk protein, and eczema were associated with an increased risk of PBB. Sputum distribution and tracheal wall changes observed through FOB may distinguish PBB and assist in its diagnosis.

Computed Tomography Study of the Retrosigmoid Craniotomy Keyhole Approach Using Surface Landmarks.
Due to a lack of accessibility and individual differences in surgical procedures, many previous studies on keyholes are not practical. ⋯ When using this method, the spatial proportion relationship of the anatomical marks can accurately locate keyholes, therefore providing technical support when employing the retrosigmoid approach.

Severe Spontaneous Hematomas in Patients Hospitalized with COVID-19.
To describe the epidemiological, clinical, laboratory, and radiological characteristics, medical treatment, and outcomes of a case series of severe spontaneous hematoma in COVID-19. Material and Methods. This retrospective study included patients hospitalized for COVID-19 who were diagnosed with severe spontaneous bleeding complications by following a standardized treatment protocol that included computed tomography angiography (CTA) from 1 March 2020 to 28 February 2022. The main outcomes were embolization and all-cause mortality. Baseline variables were analyzed for their association with mortality using bivariable logistic regression, and results were expressed as odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI). ⋯ Although severe bleeding is an uncommon complication of COVID-19, its prevalence is higher than in inpatients without COVID-19, it usually needs embolization, and it is associated with high mortality.

Prognostic Value of Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio and Vaccination for Negative Conversion Time of Nucleic Acid in Nonsevere COVID-19 Patients Infected by SARS-CoV-2 Omicron Variant.
SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant is significantly different from all the previous variants and has rapidly replaced other variants as the dominant variant across the globe. An easily obtained, inexpensive, and rapid marker is needed to predict the negative conversion time (NCT) of nucleic acid in nonsevere COVID-19 patients infected by the Omicron variant. This retrospective study enrolled 226 patients infected by the Omicron variant between April 23, 2022, and May 16, 2022. ⋯ Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that high NLR (NLR > 2.22, hazard ratio (HR):0.718, 95% CI: 0.534-0.964, p = 0.028) and vaccination (vaccinated ≥1 dose, HR: 1.536, 95% CI: 1.147-2.058, p = 0.004) were independently associated with NCT of nucleic acid. NLR is a rapid, simple, and useful prognostic factor for predicting NCT of nucleic acid in nonsevere COVID-19 patients with the Omicron variant. In addition, vaccination may also play a valuable role in predicting the NCT of nucleic acid.
