Meta AnalysisSufentanil for Spinal Analgesia during Cesarean Section Delivery: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials.
To investigate the effect of sufentanil for spinal analgesia during cesarean section. ⋯ Subarachnoid administration of sufentanil has no significant difference in the combined effect value of shortening the onset time of sensory block and motor block, prolonging the onset time of local anesthesia and the incidence of some adverse reactions (such as postoperative nausea, vomiting, hypotension, and tremors). However, the incidence of skin pruritus was significantly increased, and the difference was statistically significant. Because of this, the drug still needs to be used with caution in combination with the actual situation in clinical use.

Meta AnalysisA Meta-Analysis of Induced Abortion, Alcohol Consumption, and Smoking Triggering Breast Cancer Risk among Women from Developed and Least Developed Countries.
The most prominent form of cancer in women is breast cancer, and modifiable lifestyle risk factors, including smoking, alcohol consumption, and induced abortion, can all contribute significantly to this disease. ⋯ The observed findings give sufficient support for the hypothesis that smoking and abortion have a significant influence on breast cancer in different nations. Health organizations should individually design comprehensive scientific plans to raise awareness about the risks of abortion and smoking in developed and developing countries.

Meta AnalysisAssociation between Lipid Profile and Apolipoproteins with Risk of Diabetic Foot Ulcer: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Biomarkers are necessary to stratify the risk of diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs). This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the association between the lipid profile and apolipoproteins with the risk of DFU. ⋯ The high values of LDL, TC, TG, and Lp(a) and low values of HDL are associated with a higher risk of developing DFU. Furthermore, we did not find a significant association for VLDL, ApoA1, ApoB, and ApoB/ApoA1 ratio.

Meta AnalysisAccuracy of Ultrasound Diagnosis of Benign and Malignant Thyroid Nodules: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Distinguishing between benign and malignant thyroid nodules remains difficult. Ultrasound has been established as a non-invasive and relatively simple imaging technique for thyroid nodules. This study aimed to assess the diagnostic accuracy of conventional ultrasound and ultrasound elastography for the differentiation between benign and malignant thyroid nodules by meta-analyzing published studies. ⋯ Finally, 9 articles were included. The meta-analysis showed that the combined sensitivity and specificity of ultrasound for the diagnosis of thyroid nodules were 0.88 [95% CI (0.83-0.91)] and 0.86 [95% CI (0.79-0.90)], respectively. The area under the curve (AUC) of the summary receiver operating characteristic curve (SROC) was 0.92 [95% CI (0.90-0.94)]. There was no significant publication bias in this study. Discussion. Existing evidence shows that ultrasound has a certain accuracy in diagnosing benign and malignant thyroid nodules, providing a scientific basis for thyroid assessment and diagnosis.

Meta AnalysisDrug-Coated versus Uncoated Balloon for Side Branch Protection in Coronary Bifurcation Lesions Treated with Provisional Stenting Using Drug-Eluting Stents: A Meta-analysis.
Provisional stenting using drug-eluting stents (DES) has become the preferred treatment for coronary bifurcation lesions (CBLs). We performed a meta-analysis to compare the effects of side branch (SB) protection using a drug-coated balloon (DCB) versus an uncoated balloon (UCB) during the procedure. ⋯ For patients with CBL treated with provisional stenting using DES, SB protection with DCB was associated with better angiographic and clinical outcomes than those with UCB.
