ReviewEffects of Oral Inflammatory Diseases and Oral Hygiene on Atrial Fibrillation: A Systematic Review.
Research evidence suggests a link between periodontitis (PD) and atrial fibrillation, but the nature of this link is unclear. This study aimed to systematically review and evaluate the association between PD, other oral diseases, and atrial fibrillation and the role of oral hygiene in preventing atrial fibrillation. ⋯ Regular and moderate oral hygiene, frequent tooth brushing, and prevention of PD and other oral inflammatory diseases could reduce the occurrence of atrial fibrillation. It is recommended to strengthen the popularization of oral health knowledge in the publicity related to atrial fibrillation.

Currently, fracture-related infection (FRI) still represents great challenges in front of orthopaedic surgeons, despite great advances that have been achieved regarding its diagnosis and treatment. Although both FRI and prosthetic joint infection (PJI) belong to osteoarticular infections and share similarities, FRI displays unique characteristics. Diagnosis of FRI is sometimes difficult owing to the nonspecific symptoms, and treatment is usually tricky, with a high risk of infection recurrence. ⋯ Moreover, such a disorder still poses heavy economic burdens to the patients, both personally and socially. Therefore, early diagnosis and reasonable treatment are the key issues for increasing the cure rate, decreasing the risks of infection relapse and disability, and improving the life quality and prognosis of the patients. In this review, we summarized the present concepts regarding the definition, epidemiology, diagnosis, and treatment of FRI.

ReviewScreening and Colonoscopy Quality Measures: Ethnic Disparities and Impact on Patients' Outcome.
Recent reports have confirmed the improving trends in colorectal cancer (CRC) incidence and outcomes. Still, disparities in incidence and mortality in CRC continue to persist between major ethnic groups despite the provision of widespread screening and improved care. We aimed to outline, from an endoscopic point of view, ethnic disparities in major endoscopic measures concerned with CRC screening and detection and track their impact on patients' outcomes. ⋯ Characterized by lower screening utilization and poor bowel preparation, the incidence of CRC development in Arab patients is increasing, while improving trends of CRC were observed in their Jewish counterparts.

Global, Regional, and National Burden of Ectopic Pregnancy: A 30-Year Observational Database Study.
To estimate global, regional, and national trends due to ectopic pregnancy as part of the 2019 Global Burden of Disease study. ⋯ Globally, the incidence, mortality, and DALY rate of ectopic pregnancy had been decreasing from 1990 to 2019. Compared with lower and decreasing ASIR in the high SDI region, ASIR in the low SDI region was always high, indicating the need for ectopic pregnancy treatment improvement and the establishment of more targeted and specific strategies in low SDI countries to reduce the incidence of ectopic pregnancy.
