Randomized Controlled TrialAn Analysis of the Clinical Efficacy of Early Dynamic Orthosis after Finger Extensor Digitorum Rupture.
The main objective is to compare the clinical efficacy of the early use of dynamic orthosis in patients with a finger extensor digitorum rupture. ⋯ The early use of dynamic orthosis can significantly improve the motor function and motion amplitude of the injured finger, increase the elasticity and extension of the finger extensor digitorum, and promote the recovery of muscle strength. It is an effective corrective method for tendon contracture after finger extensor digitorum rupture and has great value in clinical application.

Randomized Controlled TrialComparison of the Effect of Ketamine and Dexmedetomidine Combined with Total Intravenous Anesthesia in Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy Procedures: A Prospective Randomized Controlled Study.
This randomized prospective clinical study aimed to investigate the effects of dexmedetomidine or ketamine administration to total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA) on postoperative analgesia in subjects undergoing elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy procedures. 90 adults, American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status 1 and II patients, who underwent elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy procedures were included in the study and randomized into three groups equally. Remifentanil, propofol, and rocuronium infusions were used for TIVA guided by the bispectral index. In group KETA, 10 μg/kg/min ketamine was added to TIVA before surgery, and in group DEX, 0.5 μg/kg/h dexmedetomidine was added to TIVA before surgery. ⋯ Intravenous PCA morphine consumptions were higher in the control group than in group KETA (P < 0.001 for all followed-up times), and they were higher in group DEX than in group KETA (P < 0.001 for all followed-up times). It is concluded that the use of dexmedetomidine or ketamine infusions can be suitable as an additive for TIVA in the intraoperative period. Furthermore, the addition of both drugs to the TIVA protocol may improve postoperative pain relief and decrease opioid consumption.

Randomized Controlled TrialCombined Efficacy of Balloon Occlusion and Uterine Artery Embolization on Coagulation Function in Patients with High-Risk Placenta Previa during Cesarean Section.
The present study was performed in order to investigate the conbined effect of balloon occlusion and uterine artery embolization on coagulation function in patients with high-risk placenta previa during cesarean section. ⋯ The combined approach of balloon occlusion and uterine artery embolization offered potential for improving the coagulation function of patients with high-risk placenta previa during cesarean section. In addition, the approach reduced the amount of blood loss and plasma injection, shortened the length of hospital stay, which was believed available for wide clinical application.

Randomized Controlled TrialInfluence on Depression, Anxiety, and Satisfaction of the Relatives' Visit to Intensive Care Units prior to Hospital Admission for Elective Cardiac Surgery: A Randomized Clinical Trial.
Intensive care units (ICUs) may produce stress on the relatives of patients that have long-term physiological and psychological implications. ⋯ Relatives' satisfaction during patients' ICU admission may be impaired after their prior visit to the hospital admission. Relative's anxiety and depression scores did not seem to be significantly affected. Relatives´ visit prior to elective cardiac surgery hospital admission impaired their satisfaction in an ICU and may not be advisable for healthcare practice.

Randomized Controlled TrialEffects of a Mediterranean Diet Compared with the Low-Fat Diet on Patients with Knee Osteoarthritis: A Randomized Feeding Trial.
Knee osteoarthritis is a common global problem, especially in overweight and obese people. It is not clear that weight loss is a factor for pain reduction in these patients or dietary components are important. Herein, we compared the effects of Mediterranean (MD) and low-fat diet on pain, stiffness, and physical function in patients with knee osteoarthritis. ⋯ Pain severity was reduced in the MD group, but no significant change was reported in patients on low-fat and regular diets. It seems that dietary components in the MD, regardless of weight loss effect, are effective on pain reduction in patients with KOA. The present study was registered in the IRCT under the code of IRCT20200929048876N1.
