Chronological changes in surgical outcomes after trapeziectomy with ligament reconstruction and tendon interposition arthroplasty for thumb carpometacarpal osteoarthritis.
Despite satisfactory mid-term and long-term outcomes of trapeziectomy with ligament reconstruction and tendon interposition (LRTI) procedures for thumb carpometacarpal osteoarthritis, there is limited literature describing detailed chronological changes in early-phase postoperative outcomes. We investigated chronological changes of subjective, objective, and radiological outcomes within 1 year post-trapeziectomy with LRTI using a longitudinal evaluation and analyzed clinical factors associated with patient-reported subjective outcomes. ⋯ IV, retrospective therapeutic study.

Many authors have demonstrated the necessity of reconstruction of the anterior column in spinal trauma with vertebral body collapse or nonunion. Review Meta AnalysisPostoperative outcomes of tranexamic acid use in geriatric trauma patients treated with proximal femoral intramedullary nails: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Recently, there has been a series of clinical studies focusing on the perioperative administration of tranexamic acid (TXA) in geriatric trauma patients undergoing proximal femoral intramedullary nail surgery. However, the safety and efficacy of TXA in these patients remains controversial. Therefore, we performed a systematic review to focus on two questions: (1) would TXA reduce perioperative blood loss in geriatric trauma patients undergoing proximal femoral intramedullary nail surgery? and (2) would TXA increase the rate of perioperative complications in geriatric trauma patients undergoing proximal femoral intramedullary nail surgery? ⋯ II, Systematic review and Meta-analysis.
