Case Reports[Intestinal fistula--a complication in the surgical treatment of the substitution mesh infection].
The infection of the substitute mesh, used in the treatment of the large abdominal eventrations is a very severe complication for the patient and also for the surgeon. The surgical treatment of this complication represents the ablation of the mesh with concomitant evacuation of the purulent collection and the annihilation of the infectious source. ⋯ The ablation of the mesh, especially if the infection was continuous for a long period, is very difficult and can have as consequences severe complications, one of them being the small intestine fistula. This paper presents the case of one patient with an infection of the substitution mesh that had a continuous evolution over a long period, approximately 3 years, and its ablation being complicated with a small intestine fistula.

Case ReportsIntegra--a therapeutic alternative in reconstructive surgery. Our first experience.
Coverage is one of the most important issues in plastic surgery. The both acute and reconstructive surgery can often face with limited donor site availability requiring additional therapeutic options. One of the research direction developed in the last 30 years is the quest for the "artificial skin". ⋯ A meticulous surgical technique with a good hemostasis and continuous wound care during first and second stage are mandatory for optimal esthetic and functional results. This is the first use of Integra in Romania. Experience is important for further steps are needed in coverage of patients with severe burn trauma.

Case Reports[Abdominal aorta section caused by abdominal stab wound: discussion of two cases].
Abdominal vascular lesions are generally caused by accidents (most frequently car accidents, but also falling from an altitude, etc.) or by aggression with knives and fire arms. Abdominal vascular wounds, especially those involving the aorta, cause high mortality. ⋯ We present two cases of partial sections of the abdominal aorta caused by stab wounds: a 16-year-old male aggressed by a school-mate and a 45-year-old male who aggressed himself. We discuss the necessity of immediate surgery on patients with abdominal stab wounds in order to determine the localization and gravity of the lesions.
