Effect of intravenous, perioperative-administered lidocaine on serum levels of endocannabinoids and related N-acylethanolamines in children.
Endocannabinoids and N-acylethanolamines (NAEs) are compounds that play a significant role in nociception. The promising therapeutic opportunities in postoperative pain management are connected with intra-venous (i.v.) lidocaine administration as a part of multimodal analgesia. Therefore, we analyzed the influence of perioperative, i.v. lidocaine infusion in children on postoperative serum concentrations of endocannabinoids and NAEs. ⋯ Perioperative, i.v. lidocaine administration influences postoperative serum concentrations of endocannabinoids and NAEs in children.
