Review Case Reports
[Abdominal Burkitt lymphoma mimicking the ovarian cancer. Case report and review of the literature].
Primary Burkitt lymphoma is a lymphoblastic B-cell malignant tumor with very aggressive course. Its abdominal form involving internal genital organs is very rare. ⋯ The presence of primary abdominal Burkitt lymphoma may include clinical and laboratory findings suggesting the presence of ovarian cancer. Chemotherapy appears to be an essential therapeutic management for all forms of Burkitt lymphoma. Clinically advanced Burkitt lymphoma may be successfully managed with chemotherapy.

The ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) is still a difficult diagnostic and therapeutic problem. OHSS is associated with significant hypertrophy of the ovaries associated with the loss of the intravascular fluid to the third space which results in hypovolaemia, oliguria, electrolyte imbalance, and a rise in haematocrit. The endogenous OHSS is rare. ⋯ Therapy should be based on the correction of hypovolaemia, hypotension and oliguria. Antithrombotic prophylaxis is an integral part of the OHSS management. Some interesting attempts have been undertaken to re-infuse the protein-rich ascites fluid directly to the systemic circulation, so called continuous auto-transfusion system of the ascites (CATSA).

Headaches are the most frequent condition in humans. Some of the primary headaches e.g. migraine, tension type headache and chronic paroxysmal hemicrania are more prevalent in women than in men. ⋯ Differential diagnosis of those headaches are very important, because the pharmaceutical treatment is restricted. Menstruation and menopause periods also cause headaches.

The woman and the baby were discharged in a good general condition.

Review of literature on novel therapy for severe sepsis within recombinant human protein C (rhAPC). ⋯ Sufficient data are available to approve rhAPC for treatment of patients with severe sepsis. Both anticoagulant and antiinflammatory properties of rhAPC, as well as profibrinolytic activity, are the rationale for the use of rhAPC.
