Signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) plays a pivotal role in osteoblastic differentiation. However, the exact role of STAT3 in osteogenic differentiation of the pre-osteoblastic cell line MC3T3-E1 is still controversial. ⋯ These findings may provide a basis for the development of more efficient and controllable protocols for osteoblastic differentiation and facilitate their use in regenerative medicine. In addition, our results provide novel insights into the effect of the STAT3 antagonist CPT on modulation of osteogenesis.

The aim of this study was to screen differentially expressed microribonucleic acids (miRNAs) in the heart tissues of rats with myocardial infarction (MI), to explore the relationship between miR-30b-p and MI, and to further research the action mechanism of miR-30b-p. ⋯ MiR-30b-5p is involved in the proliferation and apoptosis of myocardial cells via regulating the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, and it may become a potential target for the diagnosis of MI in clinic.
