Appropriateness of Intensive Statin Treatment in People with Type Two Diabetes and Mild Hypercholesterolemia: A Randomized Clinical Trial.
The aim of this study was to compare moderate- versus high-intensity statin therapy in patients with type 2 diabetes and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol less than 130 mg/dL. ⋯ Despite the general conception, moderate-intensity statins are not adequate for the majority of patients with T2DM and mild hyperlipidemia and greater numbers of patients could reach the LDL cholesterol target with high-intensity statin therapy.

Efficacy of Ibuprofen Lysine on First-Trimester AbortionRelated Pain and Hemorrhage: A Randomized TripleBlinded Clinical Trial.
Some recent trials have reported high efficacy for nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in relieving medical abortion-related pain. The aim of this study was to determine the beneficial effect of oral NSAIDs (ibuprofen lysine) in reduction of pain and hemorrhage in first-trimester medical abortion. ⋯ The use of NSAIDs (ibuprofen lysine) is a good pharmacological analgesic option for relieving medical abortionrelated pain and hemorrhage.

Clinical Evaluation of an HTK Solution for Liver Transplantation: A Phase 3 Randomized Pilot Clinical Trial Study.
Organ preservation solutions are not easily accessible in Iran, similar to many resource-limited countries. We aimed to evaluate the efficacy of a locally-produced HTK solution among adult liver transplantation candidates in a pilot clinical trial study. ⋯ Based on the findings of this pilot study with the current sample size, no statistically significant difference was found between our locally-produced HTK solution and Custodiol® regarding clinical outcomes.

Comparison of Vitamin D, Neurofeedback, and Neurofeedback Combined with Vitamin D Supplementation in Children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.
Nowadays, some treatments such as neurofeedback and Vitamin D Supplementation are of great importance in the treatment of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). To determine the efficacy of the combined treatment, the present trial was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of each one of them with combined neurofeedback and vitamin D supplementation in the reduction of ADHD symptom in children suffering from this disorder. ⋯ Combined treatment could be considered as more effective compared to separate treatments. In addition, in this study, by applying the combined intervention, the duration of treatment decreased significantly.

Magnesium Sulfate for Prevention of Post-ERCP-Pancreatitis: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
Acute pancreatitis is one of the most common complications of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). Studies suggest that intrapancreatic calcium has an important role in activating pancreatic enzymes; in addition, elevated intraductal pressure is required for development of pancreatitis. Magnesium sulfate (MS), as a calcium antagonist and a muscle relaxant of the Oddi sphincter, is suggested to reduce the incidence and severity of post-ERCP-pancreatitis (PEP) in this article. ⋯ Although the usage of MS was not able to prevent PEP in all patients enrolled in this study, but it could significantly reduce the incidence of PEP in high risk patients of intervention group in comparison with placebo group. The median length of hospital stay was also significantly lower in new drug group in contrast to placebo.
