Network meta-analysis was used to evaluate the effectiveness of different exercise interventions in the treatment of obesity in young people and recommend the most suitable exercise method. ⋯ Exercise interventions such as high-intensity aerobic training combined with resistance training can be considered and promoted as a non-drug treatment for primary obesity in young adults.

The present study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of arterial ischaemic stroke (AIS) in Polish children, as well as to analyse the parameters related to AIS hospitalisation, including age, gender, region, month and season of the year at admission, duration, and costs, based on data from National Health Fund (NHF) registry in 2011-2020. ⋯ Data from the NHF registry proved that AIS occurs more often in boys than in girls and is more common in adolescents (15-18 years) than in younger children.

Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) are critically involved in cancer immune suppression and MDSC density has been recognized as a robust prognostic biomarker. Here, we sought to characterize the densities and locations of CD11b+ MDSCs in primary oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and determine their prognostic significance. ⋯ Our data indicated that increased densities of CD11b+ MDSCs in CT and IM regions were significantly associated with poor prognoses, which might be novel prognostic factors for OSCC.

Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) supplementation has been reported to negatively correlate with cancer cell proliferation and tumour development in many cancer types. Although cumulative evidence has demonstrated the apoptotic effect and cytotoxicity of DHA against tumour development in many cell types, the precise cellular and biochemical mechanisms of DHA-induced apoptosis in human endometrial cancer cells have not been investigated. ⋯ Further elucidation of the apoptotic mechanisms involving DHA treatment with ACS ablation could shed light on possible new treatment strategies for endometrial cancer. In addition, further research into the mechanisms of DHA and triacsin C-induced apoptotic mechanisms may lead to the development of therapeutic strategies for endometrial cancer.

A common criticism of the classification of lupus nephritis is the relative scarcity of information regarding tubular, interstitial, and vascular changes compared to the available information regarding glomerular changes, even though their potential for independent progression is known. This study reviewed the importance of less explored lesions by the current and widely used 2003 classification of lupus nephritis of the International Society of Nephrology/Renal Pathology Society (ISN/RPS), with emphasis on the tubulointerstitial, podocyte, and vascular lesions, increasingly recognised as being important in the pathogenesis and prognosis of the disease. Recognition of these lesions can help with therapeutic decision-making, thereby allowing better results for patients with systemic lupus erythematosus.
