Thymomas and thymic carcinoma (TC) are the most common neoplasms localised in the thymus. These diseases are poorly understood, but progress made in next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology has provided novel data on their molecular pathology. ⋯ The most frequently mutated genes in thymoma samples analysed in this study belong to the EGFR, ATM, and TP53 signalling pathways, regulating cell cycle check points, gene expression, and apoptosis. The results of our study complement the knowledge of thymoma molecular pathogenesis.

This study aimed to investigate the effect of nurse-led multidisciplinary cooperation in the early screening and protection of fecal water dermatitis in hospitalized patients with enterostomy. ⋯ Nurse-led multidisciplinary cooperation can improve early screening and protection of fecal water dermatitis in hospitalized patients with enterostomy and improve the quality of life of patients.

Nomogram for predicting reflux esophagitis with routine metabolic parameters: a retrospective study.
The prevalence of reflux esophagitis (RE) is relatively high around the world. We investigated routine metabolic parameters for associations with RE prevalence and severity, creating a user-friendly RE prediction nomogram. ⋯ Our study highlights the association between the routine metabolic parameters and RE prevalence and severity. The nomogram may be of great value for the prediction of RE prevalence.

The present study focused on developing a nomogram model to predict the 3-month survival of patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) receiving intravenous thrombolysis with tissue plasminogen activator (tPA). ⋯ A robust BDH2-MN2 (BNP, DNT, HCY, HDL, MHR, NHR and post-thrombolysis NIHSS) nomogram model was successfully developed and validated. The developed nomogram enables prediction of adverse outcomes of individual AIS patients receiving intravenous thrombolysis with alteplase for 3 months.

Oral epithelial cells were recently shown to be able to differentiate into corneal epithelium, and the efficacy of cultured autologous oral mucosal epithelial cells (CAOMEC) has been suggested by the presence of epithelium replacement. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the treatment outcome in limbal stem cell deficiency (LSCD) by adding CAOMEC to regular amniotic membrane (AM) treatment. ⋯ The transplantation of CAOMECS offers a viable and safe alternative in the reconstruction of a stable ocular surface. The effect is better than that of traditional AM transplantation, mainly in promoting corneal epithelialization, improving ocular surface structure, and reducing fiber and vascular infiltration.
