The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between attentional impulsivity levels and physiological and psychological stress responses of university students. ⋯ The attentional impulsivity is an important variable for explaining changes in both physiological and psychological stress responses. Physiological and psychological stress responses should be considered as separate kinds of stress responses in stress response measurements.

Chondrocyte apoptosis as a prominent characteristic is usually accompanied by cartilage degeneration in osteoarthritis (OA). Herein, we aimed to determine the roles of miR-149-5p in tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α)-induced chondrocyte apoptosis. ⋯ miR-149-5p inversely regulated TNF-α-mediated chondrocyte damage by inhibiting TRADD-modulated caspases signaling. The miR-149-5p/TRADD signaling pathway might be a promising therapeutic target for the treatment of OA.

This study aims to evaluate the predictive value of color Doppler ultrasound for the diagnosis of aberrant right subclavian artery (ARSA) with a co-occurring non-recurrent right laryngeal nerve (NRLN). ⋯ Aberrant right subclavian artery can be rapidly detected by ultrasonography. Aberrant right subclavian artery occurs when the RCCA originates from the aortic arch during detection. Patients with ARSA sometimes have co-occurring NRLN. Hence, vigilance in protecting the NRLN is needed during an operation.

Chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease have been found to be caused by diabetes. More recently, the renal tubulointerstitium has been increasingly assumed to play a role in the pathogenesis of diabetic nephropathy with prolonged exposure to a variety of metabolic and haemodynamic injuring factors associated with sustained hyperglycaemia as contributing factors. This study aimed to investigate whether maternal diabetes could be the factor affecting kidney function in a newborn with the use of neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) and kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1) - biomarkers of renal injury. ⋯ Based on the results of this study, we indicate for the first time that maternal diabetes mellitus during pregnancy may be considered as the cause of tubular kidney damage in newborns.

This study probes the mechanism of the PARP9/PI3K/AKT/PD-L1 axis in the chemoresistance and immune escape of breast cancer cells. ⋯ PARP9 knockdown blocked the PI3K/AKT pathway to downregulate PD-L1, thus depressing chemoresistance and immune escape in breast cancer.
