Microvascular invasion (MVI) is the main factor affecting the prognosis of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The aim of this study was to identify accurate diagnostic biomarkers from urinary protein signatures for preoperative prediction. ⋯ The four-protein-related nomogram in urine samples is a promising preoperative prediction model for the MVI status of HCC patients. Using the model, the risk for an individual patient to harbor MVI can be determined.

This study aimed to investigate the neuroanatomical subtypes among early-onset schizophrenia (EOS) patients by exploring the association between structural alterations and molecular mechanisms using a combined analysis of morphometric similarity network (MSN) changes and specific transcriptional expression patterns. ⋯ The findings of this study provide a comprehensive analysis of neuroanatomical subtypes in EOS, shedding light on the intricate relationships between macrostructural and molecular aspects of the EOS disease.

We aimed to investigate the protein pathways linking obesity and lifestyle factors to coronary artery disease (CAD). ⋯ This study suggests pathways explaining the associations of obesity and lifestyle factors with CAD from alterations in blood protein levels. These insights may be used to prioritize therapeutic intervention for further study.

Coronary microvascular function in male physicians with burnout and job stress: an observational study.
As a professional group, physicians are at increased risk of burnout and job stress, both of which are associated with an increased risk of coronary heart disease that is at least as high as that of other professionals. This study aimed to examine the association of burnout and job stress with coronary microvascular function, a predictor of major adverse cardiovascular events. ⋯ In male physicians, burnout and high job stress showed opposite associations with coronary microvascular endothelial function. Longitudinal studies are needed to show potential clinical implications and temporal relationships between work-related variables and coronary microvascular function. Future studies should include burnout and job stress for a more nuanced understanding of their potential role in cardiovascular health.

The association between the vaginal microbiome and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is reported, but the longitudinal changes in the vaginal microbiome that accompany oral contraceptive therapy have not been described. ⋯ The abundance of Lactobacilli increased with PCOS treatment; however, the trajectory was inconsistent for each individual. Evidence of the effects of female hormone levels on the vaginal microbiome is insufficient.
