Numerous studies consistently report on the frequent presence of low-grade systemic inflammation in individuals with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder (BD), and depression. Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and a recently established marker, systemic immune inflammation index (SII), are markers used to assess systemic inflammation and immune response. In this study, NLR and SII index values were examined and compared across patients diagnosed with major psychiatric disorders and healthy controls. ⋯ The results of the study indicate that the significant difference in NLR and SII values persists after treatment in patients with schizophrenia and BD, and that the abnormal inflammatory response continues during the treatment process (Tab. 2, Ref. 41).

Traditionally, astrocytes are categorized into fibrous and protoplasmic types based on their morphological appearance. ⋯ Our immunohistochemical study demonstrates that GFAP-positive cells with morphology similar to protoplasmic astrocytes rarely occur in injured brain cortex. We conclude that brain tissue contains GFAP-negative glial precursor cells, which can differentiate into GFAP-positive cells under pathological conditions and sometimes exhibit protoplasmic or intermediate morphology. Similarly, GFAP staining is increased in fibrous astrocytes, typically described as reactive to brain noxa. These results raise many questions about astrocytes identification and classification. In addition, these findings may explain the absence of GFAP-positive cells in adult human brain cultures, often termed "glia-like" cells (Fig. 3, Ref. 18).

Breast cancer is one of the main Cancers affecting patients all over the world; however, till now, there has been no successful treatment without any side effects on patient health, but there are groups of medications similar to MDM2 inhibitors that have promising effects. The aim of this study was to find out whether the use of mdm2 inhibitors can help treat breast cancer using three cell lines. The use of treatments belonging to the MDM2 inhibitor alone or with the use of doxorubicin together with a combination of Nutlin-3, Miladometan, Yh239-EE, and doxorubicin in breast cancer cell lines HP100, MCF7. ⋯ Our research concluded that Nutlin 3 has a superior effect over Yh239-EE and Miladometan in treating Breast cancer; moreover, the combination group has shown to be more effective than treatment with Doxorubicin or MDM2 inhibitors alone. Interesting information is that Doxorubicin also causes an increase in P53 levels. This result provided us with a promising therapeutic strategy for the treatment of breast cancer. However, more research is required to be conducted on more types of cell lines and in human or animal models (Tab. 4, Fig. 8, Ref. 33). In silico and in vitro studies of Tyr-Lys-Thr tripeptide against human lung cancer cell line (A549).
The main purpose of this study is to predict the effect of Tyr-Lys-Thr (YKT) tripeptide, recognized for its anticancer properties, on lung cancer through theoretical and experimental analyzes. ⋯ In silico docking studies were conducted with PI3K, Akt1, and mTOR, known to be active in human cancer, as well as caspase-3 and caspase-8, key enzymes in apoptosis. It was determined that YKT exhibited a robust binding tendency with each receptor. YKT tripeptide was also found to have a cytotoxic effect on human lung carcinoma cell line A549 (Tab. 5, Fig. 11, Ref. 28).

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic in the Russian Federation, social care providers received incentives such as bonuses and welfare payments. The study examines the association between COVID-19 pandemic indicators and distribution of incentives to care providers in Russia. ⋯ There is a correlation between payments to social care providers and coronavirus pandemic indicators (Tab. 5, Ref. 31).
