It is estimated that environmental risk factors (ERF) were responsible for nine million deaths worldwide in 2019. ⋯ Despite decreases in the last 32 years, outdoor environment particulate matter showed the highest mortality and DALYs lost, followed by lead exposure. It is essential to strengthen air quality and lead exposure policies in Mexico.

Multiple studies have been recorded regarding the perception of abortion among students in the health area. ⋯ The medical-scientific training provided by the human embryology course is not enough to provide foundations to the perception of students on issues such as abortion or conscientious objection.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a complex disease, determined by genetic, environmental and lifestyle-associated risk factors. Genetic (inherited) factors have great influence on its development; however, most cases of CRC are sporadic and gradually develop over several years. ⋯ The main recommendation for preventing the development of CRC is to reduce the risk factors, increase the consumption of fruits, vegetables and grains, exercise regularly and limit the consumption of both alcohol and tobacco. However, family history and the presence of a hereditary syndrome increase the risk, which is why carrying out periodic examinations to detect CRC is suggested, using development predictors such as biochemical and molecular markers, which are discussed in this work.

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a major cause of mortality, with economic implications for the health system. ⋯ Mexico must invest in public health programs to address modifiable risks, promote healthy aging, and reduce premature death due to CVD.

Vaccination is the most effective intervention for reducing the burden of SARS-CoV-2-related disease; however, gaps in knowledge regarding cancer patients (CPs) immune response persist. ⋯ The BNT162b2 vaccine was associated with a higher humoral response. It is necessary for more information and vaccination strategies to be available for immunosuppressed patients in order to select the best biologics for this population based on individual characteristics.
