This study is to use albumin-bilirubin (ALBI) grade and up-to-7 (UT7) criteria to assess outcomes of patients with intermediate stage hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after transarterial (chemo)embolization (TA(C)E). ⋯ ALBI-U classification was useful in predicting outcomes of patient with intermediate stage HCC after TA(C)E.

Incisor liability is the discrepancy in the sum of the mesiodistal crown width between the primary and permanent incisors. Incisor liability affects the integrity and eruption of the permanent incisors during the transition from the primary to permanent dentition. This study investigated the incisor liability in the primary dentition of Taiwanese children. ⋯ Incisor liability differs depending on ethnicity. In Taiwanese children, incisor liability was closely related with the crown widths of the permanent incisors. The incisor liability values of boys were higher than those of girls in the upper arch but not the lower arch.

Taiwan set up disaster medical assistance teams (DMATs) after the Chi-Chi earthquake, but these teams lack unified standards. ⋯ Using localized standards to evaluate the disaster preparedness of each team, DMATs were found to have many shortcomings mainly due to the lack of unified government announcement standards, legal protection, and adequate financial support.

Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteremia-induced sepsis is a clinically important condition with a high mortality rate and various known virulence factors. However, studies on the association of these virulence factors with the occurrence of K. pneumoniae bacteremia-induced sepsis are scarce. We aimed to investigate clinical variables and virulence factors in patients with K. pneumoniae bacteremia-induced sepsis. ⋯ Siderophore production was an independent predictor of sepsis caused by K. pneumoniae bacteremia. The optimal cut-off point for siderophore production for sepsis occurrence prediction was 9.6 mm. To improve outcomes, patients with K. pneumoniae bacteremia-induced sepsis with high siderophore production levels should be managed prudently.

COVID-19 has not only affected the respiratory but the cardiovascular system. Taiwan has encountered a less severe COVID-19 pandemic. We reported the current situation in Taiwan. ⋯ However, there was a trend of subjective shortness of breath reported by the patients but no decline in 6 MWT. Notably, none of the enrolled patients reported MACEs during the COVID pandemic. We observed an impact of anxiety on patients receiving epirubicin but it did not influence their return ratio.
