Globally, more than 50 countries have been affected by Monkey pox virus after COVID-19 has subsided. WHO declared "public health emergency of international concern" in year 2022 because of virus affecting 60,000 people in just one month that belonged to clade-IIb. ⋯ This virus has been further deteriorating unstable and unsustainable economy that requires dire attention. Strict preventive measures in terms of personal hygiene, pet and livestock health care, hospital contaminant disposal, good surveillance record, pre and post exposure vaccination, waste and water management could be only possible strategies to eliminate devastatingly dangerous M-pox outbreaks in this epic.

Impact of glucose-containing fluid on acute pancreatitis outcomes: A multicenter retrospective analysis.
Fluid resuscitation reduces mortality and morbidity in acute pancreatitis (AP); however, whether glucose-containing fluids negatively impact AP remains uncertain. We aimed to examine the association between glucose-containing fluids and AP outcomes. ⋯ Excess glucose-containing fluid was associated with increased risks of overall, respiratory, and cardiovascular OF and ICU admission in AP.

Primary breast diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (PB-DLBCL) is rare, with a high incidence of central nervous system (CNS) relapse. This study aims to investigate clinical characteristics, prognostic factors, and outcomes in Taiwanese PB-DLBCL patients and review the literature on PB-DLBCL. ⋯ Patients with low-risk mIPI scores, CR after first-line treatment, and those who underwent HSCT after the first relapse had significantly better survival. Intrathecal chemotherapy conferred no benefit in preventing CNS relapse. Further research is needed to assess frontline HSCT's effectiveness in improving outcomes and preventing CNS relapses in PB-DLBCL patients.

Tracheostomized patients undergoing liberation from mechanical ventilation (MV) are exposed to the ambient environment through humidified air, potentially heightening aerosol particle dispersion. This study was designed to evaluate the patterns of aerosol dispersion during spontaneous breathing trials in such patients weaning from prolonged MV. ⋯ Aerosol dispersion within 300 cm of the patient was not significantly different, while the nebulization significantly enhances ambient aerosol dispersion in tracheostomized patients on prolonged MV.

Leukocyte esterase strips have been widely used to detect the presence of leukocyte in human body fluids. We investigated the correlation between fecal leukocyte esterase (FLE) and fecal calprotectin (FC) levels and compared manual with machine automated interpretation of FLE level. ⋯ Positive FLE can predict FC levels of more than 500 mg/kg. The test is widely available, produces results on the same day, and is low cost; therefore, FLE should be further investigated for use in bowel inflammation monitoring.
