This retrospective study aimed to determine which factors, such as cognition, motor recovery, swallowing function, and bladder and bowel functions, significantly predicted independence in the activities of daily living (ADL) at hospital discharge in a domestic population of patients experiencing post-acute stroke who received in-hospital rehabilitation. ⋯ Baseline ADL function was the most important prognostic factor of functional independence in post-acute stroke. Moreover, the activity limitation of dependency on sitting up and motor function impairment of hemiplegic lower limb prognosticated functional independence.

Increased intra-individual variability (IIV) in reaction time (RT) is a key feature of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). However, little is known about neurobiology underpinnings of IIV in ADHD. ⋯ This study highlights that brain regions responsible for the motor, salience processing and multimodal information integration are associated with increased IIV in youths with ADHD.

Roxadustat treatment for anemia in peritoneal dialysis patients: A randomized controlled trial.
Roxadustat, a first-in-class hypoxia-inducible factor prolyl hydroxylase inhibitor, promotes erythropoiesis and regulates iron metabolism. This study investigated the efficacy and safety of roxadustat in Chinese patients with anemia on peritoneal dialysis (PD). ⋯ Roxadustat effectively corrected and maintained target Hb levels in Chinese PD patients. This trial was registered in the Chinese Clinical Trial Register (ChiCTR2000035054).
