Diabetic kidney disease has substantial burden and limited therapeutic options. An inadequate understanding of the complex gene regulatory circuits underlying this disorder contributes to the insufficiency of current treatment strategies. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play a crucial role as regulators of functionally related gene networks. Previously, mmu-mir-802-5p was identified as the sole dysregulated miRNA in both the kidney cortex and medulla of diabetic mice. This study aims to investigate the role of miR-802-5p in diabetic kidney disease. ⋯ These findings suggest that miR-802-5p is a critical regulator of diabetic nephropathy in the cortex and medulla compartments, contributing to disease pathogenesis through the renin-angiotensin axis and inflammatory pathways.

Currently, the anticancer effects of metformin on different types of lung cancer have been frequently studied. However, the relationship between metformin and prognosis in nondiabetic patients with lung cancer remains controversial. To systematically evaluate the efficacy of metformin adjunctive therapy as the treatment for nondiabetic patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) to provide an evidence-based reference for clinical medication. ⋯ Metformin adjunctive therapy can improve the DCR of nondiabetic patients with advanced NSCLC. In addition, the patients cannot obtain a prolonged PFS, OS, 1-year PFS rate, and higher ORR rate.

Human T-cell lymph tropic virus type 1 (HTLV-I)-related myelopathy/tropical spastic paraparesis (TSP) is a progressive inflammatory process affecting the spinal cord that occurs as a result of HTLV 1. The use of nonpharmacological approaches has always been one of the treatment strategies in these patients, but disagreement about these interventions and their results has led to their limited use. Therefore, this study aimed to identify nonpharmacological interventions and their consequences in these patients. ⋯ The most common physical therapy method used in studies was active and passive body movements, which are associated with positive results for patients. Due to the small sample size in this group of studies, it is necessary to conduct more clinical trials for more accurate conclusions. Furthermore, due to the limited number of studies that have used electrical stimulation or combined intervention packages, it is not possible to say with certainty what effect these methods have on patients. It is necessary to conduct more clinical trials.

Calcitonin gene-related peptides (CGRP) have been considered a new effective means to prevent and treat migraine. Eptinezumab is a new class of CGRP antagonists that has been ratified for clinical treatment. The purpose of this systematic review was to assess and contrast the therapeutic effect and safety of eptinezumab in the management of migraine in comparison with a placebo. ⋯ Eptinezumab has good healing efficacy and insignificant adverse effects in treating migraine, particularly the dosage of 300 mg.

Despite a lot of efforts made in the rabies health-care system, Iran is still in an endemic region and millions are spent annually to prevent rabies. ⋯ Estimates reveal that there has been little change in the animal bites over the years. It is necessary to take special actions to control the disease at the national and international levels.
