Diphenhydramine (DPH) is an antihistamine medication that in overdose can result in anticholinergic symptoms and serious complications, including arrhythmia and coma. We aimed to compare the value of various machine learning (ML) models, including light gradient boosting machine (LGBM), logistic regression (LR), and random forest (RF), in the outcome prediction of DPH poisoning. ⋯ Our study demonstrates the application of ML in the prediction of DPH poisoning.

This study was aimed at evaluating the effect of ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) and multistrain synbiotic on indirect hyperbilirubinemia among neonates treated with phototherapy. ⋯ Findings suggest that UDCA and synbiotic administration alongside phototherapy are more effective in reducing bilirubin levels as compared to phototherapy alone.

The use of probiotics in the treatment of infertility is a new area of research. In this study, our objective was to examine the efficacy of probiotic supplementation on semen parameters following varicocelectomy. ⋯ Our study demonstrates that the short-term use of probiotics after varicocelectomy can provide additional benefits in improving semen parameters. Probiotic supplements are cost-effective and well tolerated, making them a suitable option for enhancing the outcomes of varicocelectomy.

This study aimed to evaluate the severity of alopecia areata (AA) associations with metabolic syndrome, body composition evaluated by bioimpedance techniques, and arterial stiffness based on pulse-wave velocity analysis. ⋯ This study found that AA severity is associated with a higher chance of having metabolic syndrome and arterial stiffness which may lead to cardiovascular diseases in patients with AA, and screening patients regarding cardiometabolic diseases is mandated.
