Bilirubin can have a toxic effect on the brain, so newborns must be carefully checked to identify those who may develop significant hyperbilirubinemia and bilirubin encephalopathy (kernicterus). The study aimed to determine if cord blood albumin could be utilized to predict the onset of significant newborn jaundice in healthy-term babies. ⋯ Cord blood albumin levels are sensitive to predicting subsequent neonatal jaundice in the healthy term newborn.

Healthy Life Centers have recently been added to Turkey's health system as a new service model. ⋯ Satisfaction from a healthy life center which is built as a new service model is not at the expected level yet. More studies like this one which is a first in its field in terms of methodology will set the ground for a better understanding of the service receivers' expectations and perceptions. That is how the decision-makers can shape up this new service model according to expectations.

This study aimed to investigate the effects of omega-3 fatty acid use on sepsis and mortality in patients treated for COVİD-19 disease in the intensive care unit (ICU) based on clinical and laboratory results. ⋯ Study results obtained in this study indicate that providing omega-3 fatty acid supplements may be beneficial to patients with severe COVİD-19, however further research with large-scale randomized controlled trials is necessary.

The military lifestyle has been reported to increase the risk of this population group to the development of oral cancer. ⋯ Oral cancer awareness is low among soldiers in the Nigerian Armed Forces, and strategies to increase awareness should be developed.

The aim of this study was to evaluate radiographically the prevalence of mandibular nutrient canals (NCs) in patients with/without periodontal bone loss with aging and to correlate the number of NCs with the severity of bone loss using cone-beam-computed tomography (CBCT). ⋯ Statistical analysis showed a significant difference between the age groups and the prevalence of NCs increased in patients with periodontal alveolar bone loss with aging (P < 0.05).
